A founder explains why he started his company after researching admission consultants. He found the industry had three problems: high costs, lack of diversity, and consultants turning away clients. That gap became his product.
And so the next thing that I naturally did was I went and looked at admission consultants. And there were a couple of things that were pretty surprising to me. The first was that the cost was just unbearable. I mean, legacy admission consultants were charging north of $300 an hour. And quite honestly, that's just not a rate or affordable services and resources that many people around the world could afford. A lot of the coaches look the exact there was a lack of diversity. These admission consultants were very selective with who they wanted. They were motivated by success rate. So if they could maximize that success rate, they were looked as really the de facto player for customers to go to. And for me, I knew that that really caused this perpetual cycle of inequality.
