A founder discusses scaling a dual B2B and B2C business to 360,000 users before selling. The conversation covers revenue sharing between the two sides and how e-commerce sales drove growth.
What was the business model on the B2B side and the B2C side, too?
So on the B2B side, it was a revenue share for every product that we delivered. And then on the B2C side, it was an E commerce store within the app. So as customers use the app to download products, they could also use the app to purchase products, which is where we would sell the products through the store, and we would receive a, like, a higher split on the sale of products through the E commerce site.
Nice. And then how many customers did you have when you ended up selling the business?
So on the B2B side, I think there was over 100 anyway. And then on the B2C side, the actual platform had grown to around about 360,000 users in, like, the database, with around a thousand to two thousand daily active users within the desktop app.
