How this founder sold his company for 3x the amount he purchased it for.

A founder bought an edtech company called Seamless and sold it three years later for three times what he paid. The conversation covers how he acquired it, what he changed, and the financial details of the exit.
What made you want to acquire Seamless?
Yeah. So to answer that, I have to go back a little bit. I had a company a year and a half ago called ChatGPT. Plagiarism. It was one of the first tools that could detect plagiarism stemming from AI. So I kind of already came from that edtech background. After I sold that company, while I was in the process of it, I met a lot of cool people who were, instead of starting startups from scratch, were acquiring them and growing them exponentially. So I kind of always had that in the back of my mind that this is something really cool that I could maybe do. So Seamless for science really caught my eye on Acquire because it was also an ed tech tool. So something I was really familiar with. I knew the customers, I knew who the process, I knew how kind of how it worked, and it just seemed like a really great deal. There was a lot of different things I liked about it, and I just decided to really go for it.
You acquired seamless on acquire.com and then had it sold again for what did you tell me? Wasn't it three times what you paid for?
Yeah, exactly. A little bit less than three times, but something like that, yeah. Process. I. I knew how kind of how it worked, and it just seemed like a really great deal. There was a lot of different things I liked about it, and I just decided to really go for it.
