This is a YouTube video titled "Is it time to sell your startup?" containing a monologue or talk discussing the emotional and strategic considerations entrepreneurs face when deciding whether to sell their business, including risks of waiting too long and identity challenges post-sale. The content appears to be a single speaker sharing insights rather than a multi-speaker conversation.
The situation where you sold a business at a great time and there's stories where it goes the other way around. I don't think enough entrepreneurs think of that. Where things are going great and again, you could sell now and see a great outcome. And if you wait three, four years, you could just get completely disrupted and the business can go a completely different way. So there's always that risk. Are you so excited about it? Is the number amount you would be selling at something that gets you more excited? Would you be willing to do something else with your life? Because I think a lot of founders don't realize too, when you sell a company, you're going to go through a different emotional roller coaster. Like I meet a lot of founders, where you have almost like an identity crisis because you built a lot of your identity into the company. And so once the team is gone and your day to day looks a little different and sometimes you have too much time on your hands, you know you're going to miss your company and you know, really asking yourself, is it the right time to sell? I think is super important.
