How's it going? This is Andrew Gazdecki and in this video I'm gonna be going over the perfect exit strategy. So if you're thinking about selling your business, you only get one chance to exit the right way. And a bad exit can leave money on the table. And that's not something you wanna do as a founder. And so in this video, I'm gonna go over some things that you need to start thinking about to have a perfect exit strategy. The first is gonna be planning. You need to be prepared if you're looking to sell your business or get acquired. Most founders wait way too long to think about exiting their business and unfortunately they pay for this. A good exit strateg you maximize your valuation, attract serious buyers, and avoid last minute surprises that can essentially kill your deal. So you don't want to do that. If you build your business with an X in mind, selling becomes 10 times easier. And that couldn't be more true. So start preparing. Start thinking about how your business is going to be viewed by potential buyers. Start thinking about the value a buyer might be looking at your business when they reach out to potentially acquire your business. Are you organized? Do you have a profit and loss statement? Do you have your books in order and your house in order? Do you have systems in place? Is your business easily understandable? Could a new potential operator step into your business and run things? Or would the entire business just fall apart without you being there? These are all things to start thinking about today and start working on to improve your business. If you answered maybe no to any of those questions. Also understanding just how long it takes to sell a business, on average, it can take 4, 5, 6 months from start to finish. We can speed up that process a lot more. But let's say it takes a month to get ready to go to market. It takes a month to start organizing your financials and cleaning up your your operations and creating marketing materials. Then we build a buyer list and then we reach out to these different buyers and then you have these conversations with buyers. That whole process can take a great deal of time. So the earlier you start preparing for this, the smoother and more lucrative your exit is going to be. And then also just understanding what buyers look for. Not all businesses sell and buyers have a checklist of things they want to see. They want to see constant revenue and profitability. They want to see strong operations, growth potential, and clean financials. Pro tip. Put yourself in the buyer's shoes. Would you buy your business? Are there things about your business where you even look away, and that could be easily improved. If so, start fixing those weak spots now because it's definitely going to pay off in the future. But if you are looking to sell your business, we do help founders just like you all the time. At Acquire.com, we can help you with every step of the way. So definitely reach out if you're thinking about it. And we'd love to set up a call, learn more about your business and how we can help you maximize your acquisition.
