A founder walks through selling an app: three weeks of prep work including documentation, code cleanup, support FAQs, and organized assets. The interviewer confirms that making the handoff easy for buyers actually improves the deal.
Did you do any preparation to sell the app, like preparing documents or recording a video, anything like that?
Yeah, we almost spent like three weeks preparing for selling the app was intensive documentation, code cleanups. We had to prepare like a Google Doc with most common customer support queries. Then also we had to clean up some graphic assets. So it's like in a state where we can actually sell it and someone can take over.
That's super smart. I'm sure that helped with buyers, I assume just because the more preparation you put to where you're thinking, how can a buyer easily take over this app or the startup makes so much difference in my experience.
