This is a YouTube video titled "Unlock Higher Offers - Mastering Deal Schedules for Startups" containing a monologue or presentation from August 14, 2024, explaining the strategy of using deal schedules to price startups correctly and manage buyer engagement to maximize sale price and speed. The speaker discusses timing stages for buyer calls and offer submissions to optimize the sale process.
And one of the the best ways that I've seen this done is using something called a deal schedule. So if you want to sell for the highest price and you want to do it quickly, you want to start by pricing your startup correctly. So if you're overpricing, the strategy probably isn't going to work because you're not going to get a lot of buyers interested. You don't get a lot of buyers interested, you're not going to see a lot of offers. With the deal schedule, you're able to essentially time gate each stage. So to start, you're going to tell buyers they have, you know, 30 days to schedule a call with you. If they don't schedule a call, they're out of the sale process. Then within two weeks of the initial setup call, they need to at least give you an indication they're going to submit an offer and then two weeks after that, a formal offer. And the benefit of this is you're telling buyers that you want offers to all be received in a certain time frame.
