The video documents the third‑place match of the Global Chess League, where the FYERS American Gambits defeated the Czech Mumbai Masters 3.5–2.5 to secure third place. The segment opens with ceremonial handshakes involving tournament officials (director Bharat Singh, chief arbiter Gerd Bayer, special guest Prashant Prakash, and AICF president Nitin Naram) and introductions of both teams, highlighting star players such as former world champions Maxime Vachier‑Lagrave, Harika Dronavalli, and the rising talent Nihal Sarin. The broadcast then moves to post‑match interviews: Javokhir Sindarov reflects on the dramatic turnaround from a loss the previous day, describing the team’s resilience and his personal feelings. Nihal Sarin receives the Player‑of‑the‑Match award and discusses his performance, the pressure of back‑to‑back games, and specific moments from his games against Pranesh. Additional commentary addresses emotional recovery after a defeat, the importance of team support, and the upcoming Olympiad in Samarkand, with both Nihal and the host expressing excitement and a desire to return to a more classical format. The video mixes English and Hindi, intersperses crowd chants (“Yeah, Fyers!”), and concludes with thanks and best‑wishes for the next tournament.

Everywhere we go, people want to know.
Everywhere we go.
People want to know who we are.
We have done it, and the third place goes to Fire's American Gambits. Congratulations, Gambits! What a turnaround from yesterday, Javokir. Yesterday, you all went back home. Today, you came back. Between these 2 times, there wasn't a lot of time though. What did you do differently?
Sorry?
What did you do differently from yesterday's loss to today's win? The kind of turnaround that the team had, what is the cause of it?
I don't know. Very suspicious question for me. I can't do nothing. I mean, yeah, tomorrow— yesterday we had really— I mean, I mean, tough day. We are a bit unlucky because we are leading the whole match, but in general, I am happy that today we managed to play really very good chess and we press. I mean, all I mean, we played also too solid. So yeah, okay. I think anyway, I'm very proud with my team and we are. I'm happy that we finished on third place.
Javakir, you have had such a journey in this entire Global Chess League. You started from the Prodigy Board, then the Super Board. Superstar men's now on the Icon board four seasons through. Do we see you next season as well?
Yeah, hopefully. Why not? I like global chess a lot.
And this time that you played on the Icon board, how is it different from the previous couple of years?
The first thing, your opponents a little bit stronger than I mean than other boards, but. In general, there are no big difference. Everything is same. And like, I really enjoyed my team also. We have really fantastic team.
Well, congratulations on this great win.
Thank you.
Mark, one move blunder yesterday, today 2 on 2. That turnaround was phenomenal. Take us through your games today.
I was Really, like feeling bad because of yesterday I played a very bad game.
So today I wanted to to do my best for the team, and I was a bit lucky. And yeah, it was a very suspicious game.
All right, Nihal, I will come to you. But before that, to give away the player of the match award, may I please call upon Mr. Aditya Soni, founder and CEO, Czech. And the Player of the Match award goes to...
Nihal Sarin!

And they— I mean, we were definitely unlucky, but also it was not complete accident. It happens due to the pressure, and they completely deserved it. And, uh, yeah, next time hopefully we can handle pressure better. I mean, especially my board. I, I kind of had like a mate, but— But yeah, at least today, happy to, happy to recover, forget this and play some good chess. Yeah, third place is, it's not finals, but it's definitely, it's very nice to end on a positive note.
Nihal, just confirming again, you won, right? You're the only one remaining to use very suspicious in your answer. Do you want to put it in somewhere?
It's okay, I think.
Just so people know, it's just a game that we play, uh, in the hotel back. It has nothing suspicious to do with anything that's happening on the boards at chess. But thank you so much. Congratulations to the 5th American Gambits. Give it up as they win the 3rd place.
Feels very nice to end on a positive note. You were very sad after the game yesterday. What did you do after the game to motivate yourself to come back today and play this amazing game here?
Nothing special. I somehow managed to not completely be played.
And can you like tell us about the both game against Praneesh today? Both of the both of the games seemed very Very smooth.
I mean, it was not really smooth at all. Maybe okay, second game was more under control, but yeah, my conversion was anything but clean. But he made a he made a crucial mistake with this queen d three, and after that, when he loses like when he loses h six pawn, his king is completely open.
And then yeah, you know yesterday Nihal Virat Kohli still seemed very down after the loss against Pranesh. It took you to just physically, you know, wake him up and just like— because all the team left and you just stayed back with him. What happens in those sort of situations when the player feels so down? He feels responsible for the team's loss, but it happens in the game, right?
Yeah, absolutely, it happens in the game, but it's a very difficult feeling because you feel responsible and no matter how much you Tell the person that it happens, it's a difficult feeling to wipe out. So the first thing you need is time, space to, you know, recover, get to a better emotional space. And then I think it's nice to have people around who can put you in a better mood, do something else, get your mind off. So that's what we tried to do yesterday. We had a team dinner and then we usually play some games at the end of the day. And And yeah, the usual things. But it takes a long time for that feeling to go.
It's a team event. You win as a team. You lose as a team. But you have to name one player which impressed you the most in your team with with with with his performance. Who would that be?
If I had to pick one, that's a difficult choice because I think three of them played incredibly well. Gambits. It's the best performance for American Gambits so far in Global Chess League, and we definitely tried out a few new things which worked really well for us. For instance, having a younger team going for, you know, certain players of a certain style, and Nihal was one such choice which worked incredibly well for the team. So we have a few positives and a few areas that we will identify where we can improve. We will work on those We'll identify those areas and work on getting better at them.
See, one team tournament to another. Now you'll be traveling to Samarkand for the Olympiad. How are you looking forward to it?
I'm actually pretty excited, and I'm also happy going to a more conventional tournament like Olympiad where there will certainly be not as many heartbreaks because games don't get decided in the last 5-10 seconds, and in general things are a little more under control. You have a 30-second increment. So I look forward to, you know, having a more stable classical tournament and going back to sort of my comfort zone.
Thank you.
Nihal, same question to you. What will be your mindset upcoming for Samarkand?
Yeah, I'm very, very much looking forward to it. The team is also very young team. Like, we are— we all known each other since a very, very long time. So it's going To be a lot of fun. I'm really looking forward.
Did you get enough time to prepare for Olympia during the event?
Okay, during this event, I was just trying to play well in this event. Olympia, I thought we'll just get there and take it from there.
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.
Best of luck. Sir sir.
Sir sir.
Let's be happy. Let's see.
