11.29.21 - The Ash Cash Show

In this episode of The Ash Cash Show, host Ash Exantus opens with a high‑energy chant about money and introduces the show’s daily schedule. He then moves into a reflective monologue on recent sudden deaths of young Black men (Virgil, a friend’s husband, Chadwick Boseman) and his own loss of his mother, using these tragedies to argue that death is a reminder to truly live. Ash shares a belief that energy never dies but transforms, and plays a KRS‑One clip about communicating with the departed, reinforcing the idea that guidance can come from the other side. The show transitions to a book‑review segment by Kian on Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now, outlining three core lessons: (1) you are not your mind, (2) the present moment is all we have, and (3) acceptance of what is. Kian provides practical mindfulness exercises (observing thoughts, creating “no‑mind” gaps, grounding in the senses) and repeatedly emphasizes living in the now. Motivational interludes follow, featuring Eric Thomas on the grind, KRS‑One on purpose, and Steve Harvey on faith, God’s plan, and the importance of daily prayer. Ash repeatedly urges listeners to run their own race, avoid copying others, and focus on personal purpose, citing examples from celebrities (LeBron, the “Mamba”, Virgil) to illustrate hidden struggles. He stresses that money is not the ultimate goal, but self‑worth and net‑worth building are essential, promoting his Six‑Figure Author Blueprint and encouraging a Tik‑Tok dance contest to boost engagement. The episode ends with Ash’s signature sign‑off, reminding listeners that everything is in God’s will and to tune in tomorrow. Key takeaways: death should motivate present‑moment living; the mind is a tool, not identity; acceptance reduces suffering; consistent grind and faith lead to purpose; personal branding and community interaction are vital for entrepreneurial success.

Man, like, I, I don't even know where to start, to be 100% honest. And that's why, that's why I like titled it, you know, Death Reminds Us to Live, you know what I'm saying? So, um, I guess, you know, first, rest in peace to Virgil. Um, if anybody, you know, didn't know who Virgil was, um, you know, I mean, I heard, I heard of his name. I'm not really like a fashion dude. Um, like, I've never, I've never— I don't even think I've ever been in a Louis Vuitton store, to be 100% honest with you. Like, like, not, you know what I'm saying? Um, and, um, you know, I've heard his name through Kanye, you know what I'm saying? And just understanding, you know, you know, everything he's done in the fashion world, you know what I'm saying? Just being an icon in that space. Um, but it was like, it was, you know, a lot of times people are dealing with stuff that you don't know what they— you don't know what they're dealing with, you know what I'm saying? Um, a lot of people are dealing with things you don't know what they're dealing with. Um, and you know, you know, God knows best, you know what I'm saying? So, so I never, you know, question anything. Um, you know, I never question anything, you know what I'm saying? Every, you know, everything happens for, for a reason. Uh, God knows best. And, um, to be 100% honest, this is like the second, um, this is like the second, like, sort of like sudden death Um, of a young Black man, um, that, you know, that's— I mean, you know, you know, I talked, I want to say 2 weeks ago, about, you know, one of my friends, uh, losing her husband, you know, young guy, um, and it, you know, it's, it's every time— I swear, I swear to you, every time you know, you think about— and for me, for me, you know what I'm saying, like, I'm not, you know, I'm not afraid to talk about death. I'm not, you know, I'm not afraid of death, you know what I'm saying? Because again, like, like, God knows best, you know what I'm saying? Um, if you don't question God when, when the quote-unquote good stuff happened, then, you know what I'm saying, like, you— that's just what it is, you know what I'm saying? Um, and honestly, I'd be 100% honest with you, prior to me losing my mom Um, I would, I would never, I would have never said that. I'd be like, what? Like, you know what I'm saying? But, um, but, you know, experiencing, you know, you know, a death of a loved one, you know, just kind of, you know, I mean, you, you go through those phases, you know what I mean, when you question, when you're asking, and you know what I'm saying. Um, you know, it was, it was, it was, um, you know, one of those things where, um, you, you know, you just like accept, you know, accept it, you know what I mean? Except, you know, except death, you know. Um, and for me, you know, death is just weird, you know what I'm saying? Like, death is weird, um, because I mean, I look at— I look at death as weird because every time, um, I hear someone, you know, transitions, um, because I think legends live forever, you know, um, you know. It just reminds, it just reminds me, and I, and I hope it does the same for everybody else, um, to, to live, right? You know, it reminds us to live. It reminds us that, you know, at the end of the day, um, you just never know. You never know when, when it's your time. Like, you never know when it's your time. You know, you never know when God— when God has a bigger purpose for you. Um, because I don't believe that, um, people die. I— you know, energy doesn't die. I'm not making that up. Energy doesn't die. Um, energy is just transformed. And so, um, you know, I just believe that, you know, like, like, it's weird. So I'm gonna play this clip real quick. Hold on, let me see if I can— yeah, I'm gonna play this clip real quick. I don't know if y'all can hear it. Um, but this is KRS-One, and I'm gonna tell y'all what I mean by that.
Like I was saying to you, then in a weird way, when family members pass, it means that something great is about to happen in your life and you need guidance from the other side. What's up? Okay, uh, you need guidance on the other side. Like I said, in a weird way, when Scott LaRock passed, he's killed in the Bronx. That's when my guidance started.
Yes.
Uh, when you have a parent that may go, a brother, a sister, a son, these, these are— it's painful to deal with, but you have someone on the other side now that you could communicate with. Did you— I mean, what a great privilege that is to have someone on the other side that's outside of space and time.
Wow.
Appeal to that person. Talk to them. Leave his favorite food out, his favorite drink. Leave it out. Let him know Wow. And, and you, you, and you'll see the—
And so, and the reason why, like, when I saw that clip, it just was like eerie to me because, um, in a weird way, um, and please nobody take this the wrong way, but my life got better after my mother passed away, right? Like, after my mother passed, um, like, like, life got so much better. For me, to the point, and I'm talking about so much better, like to the point that I was like, damn, like I'm cheating. You know what I'm saying? Like like like literally it felt like it felt like my mom was now my mom was now like with God, like just throwing me the alley-oop. Like like now wait wait wait give him this. All right here I need this. Like I'm talking about like to another level. Like it's like. It was it was so obvious is what I'm saying. Like my elevation was so obvious that that I that I that I I I'll be lying to you if uh if I didn't say like that wasn't um like I know that you know what I'm trying to say like I like like I like I know like I know that you know energy doesn't die you know what I'm saying and so you know I know that my mom became my angel, you know. And she— I'm talking about she been alley-ooping me stuff. I'm telling you, like, life has been great, um, you know. Life has been really, really great, um. And I just wanted to give that perspective because, again, you know, just, just hearing about, uh, you know, Virgil, you know, may he rest in peace, um, you know, my friend's husband, may he rest in peace, um, and, and everybody else who's dealing with, with, with with some type of grief, with some type of loss, um, you know, I, you know, it just, it just, it just is a reminder, right? There's just a reminder, um, you know, that, that you just gotta live, you know. I, I just want y'all to live, you know what I mean? You just don't know. You don't know. You don't, you don't know, you know what I'm saying? You don't know, um, you know, when, when it, when it's gonna happen. You know, I saw a comment about you know like whether the death is sudden or not. I don't care if you know. I don't care if you know. But a 41-year-old man who catches cancer is not expecting to die. I'm just I'm I'm talking from somebody who knows people who had cancer. You don't expect to die. You know what I'm saying? Like like your will. Even Chadwick. Chadwick. Even though Chadwick Boseman died from cancer and he knew he had it and he was dealing with it, nobody knew it. His death was sudden, you know what I'm saying? His death was sudden. Virgil's death was sudden. Like, like, nobody— if they, they were in their 40s, like, nobody, you know what I'm saying? Like, nobody who dies at 40. Yeah, I think, I think, I think my, my, my friend's husband was also, you You know, 41. You know what I'm saying? And so it's all it's sudden. Nobody expects it. You know what I'm saying? And I believe that everybody. I mean, I don't know. You know, you know. I don't know if you know. You know what I'm saying? But you I you know I can promise that most people. You know, most people are not expecting to die. And so. You just don't know, you know what I mean? Say, you know, you know what I mean? Like, you don't know, um, you know, um, you just don't know when, you know, when, when, when, when your time is, is up, you know what I'm saying? And so, um, you got to live every day, you know what I mean? Like, you got, you gotta, you got, you gotta live, live every day, you know, like it's your last. Not expecting it to be your last, right? So let me just be clear. I'm not saying, you know, live every day with the expectation of it being your last, right? But live every day like it's your last. Like, like, like stop looking forward to tomorrow. You know what I'm saying? Um, stop looking forward to tomorrow. Um, you know, tomorrow doesn't exist. Tomorrow will never exist, and you know we should live with expectation of now, right? So we're gonna go here. We're gonna go here.
Today we're gonna do a book review on *The Power of Now* by Eckhart Tolle. The concepts in this book can come across as very simple, but don't let that trick you into dismissing them without any. These concepts, although simple, are profound. With that said, keep an open mind going into this. You may get an initial reaction to resist what the book teaches, but just put your opinions and judgments to the side for a few minutes and consider the possibilities. The 3 primary concepts I want to focus on are as follows: 1, you are not your mind. 2, the present moment is all we ever have. And 3, acceptance of what is. There are many other lessons in the book, but I want to focus on these for now, just to keep it simple. The Power of Now, Lesson 1: You are not your mind. You are not your thoughts. Quite a bold statement, I know. See, the problem of humanity is deeply rooted in the mind itself. The mind is an incredibly useful tool, but we have become identified with it. The tool, as they say, has taken over the master. We believe that the mind and its constant stream of thoughts is who we are, but we are much more than that. I'm sure by now you've noticed that your mind is constantly chatting away. The voice in your head speculates, complains, judges, compares, and so on. We habitually think and worry about the future, and if we're not doing that, then we're replaying the past events in our mind. Our thoughts, our mental dialogues, are compulsive. They have taken most of us over, and the insane thing is we don't even realize it. Most of us are on autopilot. Most of us just go through life chatting to ourselves incessantly and letting our conditioned mind run our lives. Early in the book, Eckhart asks the reader, can you be free of your mind whenever you want to? Have you found the off button? Can you stop the stream of thoughts and just be? If the answer is no, then you're unconsciously identified with the mind. It's using you, and you probably don't even realize it. There is much more to you than this stream of thoughts. If you're hearing this for the first time, you may be confused. You may say, well, if I'm not my thoughts, then what am I? That's a great question, and in my opinion, asking what am I is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself. That is the beginning of self-inquiry, awareness, mindfulness, or whatever you want to call it. So how do you get closer to realizing what you truly are? It all starts with awareness.
Awareness.
Stop listening to the voice in your head as often as you can. Instead of being consumed or identified with your thoughts, you take a step back and just observe them. You try to create a sort of separation from yourself.
Wow, Kian, praise Kian.
It's super easy to get wrapped up in the stream of thoughts your mind is constantly coming up with, but just try your best to catch yourself in the stream of thought and just observe what's going on. Make a game of it, like you're pretending to watch something in a lab. Observe its reactions, actions, thoughts, and so on. After you've done this for a while, ask yourself if you notice any repetitive thought patterns. Be there as the witnessing presence of your thoughts and do so without judgment. Listen impartially throughout the day and take note of what your mind is doing. Once you start to get a glimpse that you are not the thinker, you're able to watch the thinker in your mind more objectively. When you observe your thoughts, you'll see that there's a higher level of consciousness at play here. You are that higher level of consciousness. Consider this: if you're observing your thoughts, can you be your thoughts?
Can you be your thoughts?
The answer is no. You're actually much more than thought. You are beyond thought. Over time, and as you become better at observing your thoughts, you'll feel a deeper presence behind the thought. When that happens, the thought loses its power over you because you have disidentified from the thought stream. You have disidentified from the mind. Now, if you keep this practice up for long enough, eventually you'll experience a gap between thoughts known as no mind. The gaps will be shorter first, but they will get longer. The no mind gap is not some trance-like state. It's quite the opposite. You're more aware, awake, alert, and fully present in this state. Another way to get into the state of no mind is to focus your attention in the now. Become intensely conscious of the moment you're in. This draws your attention away from the mind and into the now. You are alert and aware, but you're not thinking. You can do this at any time throughout the day. If you're waiting in line or at a stoplight, become intensely aware of the moment you're in. Let go of thought and see things without the filter of your mind. Look at things without labeling or judging them. It's very challenging at first, but don't give up. Keep doing this and you'll eventually get a glimpse of This can be a very confusing concept if you've never heard it before, so let's hit on a couple of Eckhart's quotes to really drive it home before moving to the next lesson. The single most vital step on your journey toward enlightenment is this: learn to disidentify from your mind. Every time you create a gap in the stream of the mind, the light of your consciousness grows stronger. The wider the time gap between perception and thought, the more depth there is to you as a human being. Which is to say, the more conscious you are. The moment your attention turns to the now, you feel a presence, a stillness, a peace. You no longer depend on the future for fulfillment.
Onrightradio.com.
You don't look to it for salvation. One day you may catch yourself smiling at the voice in your head as you would smile at the antics of a child. This means that you no longer take the content of your mind all that seriously. Seriously, as your sense of self does not depend on it. For most of us, the mind has become out of balance. Our compulsive thinking is an addiction of sorts. The only way out is to realize the truth: you are not your mind. You are not your thoughts. The mind is simply a tool to be used when necessary. You can still pursue goals, but you will realize that there is nothing in the future that will save you or make you happy. You don't need something in the future. You're just happy being. Being here and now. That brings us to lesson 2: the present moment is all we will ever have, so live in the here and now. As mentioned earlier, our minds like to be preoccupied thinking about the past or thinking about the future. We are very rarely in the present moment, so our goal here is to be more grounded in the present moment. Yes, thinking and planning for the future is necessary in today's world, but let's be honest, over 90% of our thinking is repetitive and useless. And it's often negative. Don't take my word for it. Listen to your mind for 10 minutes and see for yourself what it's saying. When I started doing this, I realized that my mind was just a rambling stream of random, mostly useless, repetitive thoughts, like a tape that was on repeat. Now, if you're offended by this, thinking, well, I'm not like that, well, that's just your ego talking. Your ego is the one getting offended. As you are not your thoughts, you are not your ego either. Tolle tells us that the only thing that is ultimately real about your journey is the step you are taking at this moment. You may have an outer purpose and outer goals, but they should not take up so much of your attention that they become more important than the step you are taking now. Now is all there is.
Now is all there is.
The mind is always trying to escape the now since it has no power here. The mind needs the past and the future, memory, to exist. It hides from the present. It wants to live in the past and create a story for itself, or it wants to look to the future towards some kind of fulfillment. As Tolle says, time and mind are inseparable. If you take away time by focusing on the now, the mind falls to the background. Observe how your mind habitually escapes to the past and the future. The moment you realize you're not present, you become present. When you observe it, you're not trapped in it anymore. Be what Eckhart refers to as the silent watcher. The more you're focused on time, past and future, the more you miss the now. Another great point here is that you can always handle the present moment. You can always cope with the now. Problems arise when you get wrapped up in the what-ifs and I should haves. Usually everything is fine in the present moment and you can handle whatever it is that comes your way as it happens. But when you get so wrapped up in the future and start start worrying about tomorrow or a week from now, that's when stress arises, and that's exactly where worry and anxiety come from. Ask yourself, what is missing in this moment? Really contemplate that one. The answer is nothing. All these wants, desires, and regrets come from the mind's obsession of the past and future. You can't cope with the future because it is a mind projection. It's not real. Is there ever any other time except the moment No. Even when you think of the past and the future, you're doing it in the now. If the present moment is all we ever have, shouldn't we be fully present in the moment we're in?
This is so good.
We should make that the focus of our daily lives. Sure, you can go back to the past or plan for the future when you need to, but your primary focus should be on the now. If not now, when? As Eckhart states, have you ever experienced, done, thought, or felt anything outside the now? Do you think you ever will? Is it possible for anything to happen or be outside the now? The answer is obvious, is it not? Nothing ever happened in the past and nothing will ever happen in the future. It happens in the now. A memory is just a trace from a former now that you're recalling in the now. Do you have any problems in the present moment? Not tomorrow or in 30 minutes, but right now? Let's once again hit on some quotes from The Power of Now before moving to the final lesson. Use your senses fully. Be where you are. Look around. Just look. Don't interpret. See the lights, shapes, colors, textures. Be aware of the silent presence of each thing. Be aware of the space that allows everything to be. If you set yourself a goal and work toward it, you are using clock time. You are aware of where you want to go, but you honor and give your fullest attention to the step that you're taking at this moment. Usually the future is a replica of the past. Superficial changes are possible, but real transformation is rare and depends upon whether you become present enough to dissolve the past by accessing the power of now. How does your mind operate? Are you always trying to get somewhere other than where you are? Are your actions a means to an end? Is fulfillment always just around the corner or confined to short-lived pleasures? Such as sex, food, drink, drugs, or thrills and excitement? Are you always focused on becoming, achieving, and attaining? Do you believe that if you acquire more things, you'll become more fulfilled, good enough, or psychologically complete? Only the present can free you from the past. And finally, The Power of Now Lesson 3: Acceptance of What Is. So while you're being grounded in the moment you're in, you also want to be completely accepting You don't want to allow any resistance to come in. You may think that the situation creates the suffering, but that's not so. Your resistance is. Accept the moment as it is now. When you resist what is, you create pain for yourself. Between what is and what your expectations are, there is a gap, and that's where resistance lies. Again, the first step is awareness. Observe how your mind labels, judges, and creates resistance to what is. Over time, this will get easier to do, and you'll become somewhat objective of the mind's thoughts, and they won't have such a firm grip over you. You can then allow the present moment to be. Work with it and not against it. Accept it as it is and then act. No one is saying that you have to accept a crappy situation and do nothing about it. Remember, it's still okay to say no to people or to walk away from a situation, but now let it be a non-reactive no. Not from reaction, but from insight. Accept the moment as it is, as if you had chosen it, and then do something about it if needed. Eckhart calls this surrendering to the now. Surrender is a letting go of mental-emotional resistance to what is. And I must stress this point: this does not mean giving up or being complacent. As Eckhart Tolle stated, True surrender does not mean to passively put up with whatever situation you find yourself in and do nothing about it, nor does it mean to cease making plans or initiating positive action. Surrendering is yielding to rather than opposing the flow of life. The only place where you can experience the flow of life is the now. So to surrender is to accept the present moment unconditionally and without reservation. When you acknowledge that there is resistance, you're making resistance conscious. You're no longer coming from reaction and resistance. Once you acknowledge it, ask if there's anything you can do to change, improve, or remove yourself from the situation, and then take action on the one thing you can do in the now. Not the other 100 things that you may or may not do in the future, but what you can do right now.
What can you do right now?
Tolle also states the external conditions that were being resisted also tend to shift or dissolve quickly through Surrender. It's a powerful transformation of situations and people. If conditions do not shift immediately, your acceptance of the now enables you to rise above them. Either way, you are free. And if you cannot surrender, take action immediately. Speak up or do something to bring about a change in a situation, or remove yourself from it. Take responsibility for your life. Eckhart states surrender does not transform what is, Surrender transforms you. When you're transformed, your whole world is transformed, because the world is only a reflection. Life is like a mirror. If you saw something in the mirror you didn't like, would you attack it? Of course not, because you would be attacking yourself. Become friendly with it and it becomes friendly towards you. There are no problems, only situations to be dealt with now or to be left alone and accepted as part of the is-ness of the present moment until they change or can be dealt with. So see if you can catch yourself complaining, either through speech or thought. When you're complaining, you are not accepting what is. You make yourself into a victim. Let's hit on some final quotes from the book before summarizing and wrapping this up. It is not the overall situation that you need to accept when you surrender. But just the tiny segment called now. Inner resistance cuts you off from other people, from yourself, from the world around you. This strengthens the feeling of separateness on which the ego depends on for its survival. Surrender will move you closer to people. Through surrender, you'll accept what is, and that means accepting people as they are. You won't judge, criticize, reject, label, or attempt to change people. When you accept resentment, moodiness, anger, and so on, you're no longer forced to act them out blindly, and you're less likely to project them onto others. If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place. Primary reality is within; secondary reality without. If there is truly nothing you can do to change your here and now, and you can't remove yourself from the situation, then accept. Accept your here and now totally by dropping all inner resistance. The false, unhappy self that loves feeling miserable, resentful, or sorry for itself can no longer survive. This is called surrender. Surrender is not weakness. That's my quick breakdown of The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Let's summarize quickly. One, you are not your thoughts.
You are not your thoughts.
To see them for what they truly are. Two, the present moment is all we ever have, so be more grounded in And 3, surrender to the now and accept what is. Why fight what is already in existence? Instead, whatever it is, allow it to be and surrender to it. These 3 lessons get deeper and deeper the longer you practice them. So if this piqued your interest, spend some time on them and go pick up a copy of this book. It's an absolute masterpiece.

If the lion is the king, if the lion is the king of the jungle, how can he be the king of the jungle?
How can he be the king of the jungle?
He's not the biggest.
If he's not the biggest, the elephant is probably one of the biggest.
Yep. He can't be the fastest because that's cheating.
Yep.
He can't be the smartest. So he's not the biggest, the fastest, or the smartest. So how does the lion become the king of the jungle?
His mentality.
That's the only difference of a lion and an elephant. When a lion walks up and sees an elephant, he thinks lunch.
The elephant thinks work.
And it's all mentality, because when a male lion walks up, he may be outnumbered by a pack of hyenas, but I'm king of my jungle because of my mentality.
Yup, I can feel it in the air tonight. Yup, yup. Calling in the air tonight. I've been waiting for this moment my whole life. Hey yo, listen, something's happening, you know what I'm saying? We waiting for this moment, you know.
It is the process of the grind that shapes you and forms you. It's not the game. And that's why most of y'all get beat in the game or make mistakes in the game, because you think grind is what happens when the sun comes out. You think grind is what happens when the lights come on. You think grind is what happens when people get on stage. That's not grind. The real grind is in the dark when nobody sees you, when nobody knows what you doing, when you studying without purpose, when you putting in those extra reps, when you watching those videos and you getting inspired, when you change your music. It's the process that makes you sweet.
It's the process.
Praying one day, I'm out praying 3 o'clock in the morning, I'm talking to the Creator 3 o'clock in the morning, and I ain't where I want to be. And I'm like, God, I ain't where I want to be. He was like, stop being a victim.
Stop being a victim, y'all.
That's why you ain't successful. You watching LeBron make his dreams become a reality. You watching the Black Mamba make his dreams become real. If you put the same time LeBron put in— and I started studying, and I realized as an African-American male, I need to get a master's degree and PhD in order to do what I'm doing. And guess what? I had to get up even though it was hard, and I had to take ownership of my life. Take ownership of my time. Take ownership of my day. But what I didn't want to do is I didn't want to wear another man's armor because I didn't know if I could win a fight wearing Saul's suit.
I need to be able to— I needed my slingshot. I needed my—
I needed my 5 stones.
Be who you are.
When you see this, this is E Slingshot right here. This is E 5 Stones. Why? Because what Saul did didn't even work for him. So a lot of times we copycatting other people and doing what they doing, and it ain't even working for them. But because you have—
I want to say something about that though. I want to say something about that, about like copycatting. Um, God has blessed me, right? God has blessed me to have access to people, you know what I'm saying? Like, God has blessed me to have access to people. Um, and so a lot of times I know intimately, um, what's going on, like sort of like behind the scenes, you know what I'm saying? Um, and yeah, I promise you, please, I pray, I pray, I pray that we all run our own race. Um, you know, because, because I mean, even if we, even we talk about like Chadwick Boseman, right? Um, no one knew he was going through his cancer journey for 4 years before he passed away. And so people could, you know, there were like people hating and saying mean things or whatever. Um, nobody knew what he was going through, you know what I'm saying? Um, you know, same thing with, you know, Virgil, you know what I'm saying? You know, same thing. Nobody knew what he was going through. Um, I've, I've had access to people behind the scenes who are, you know, going through stuff. Everybody go through stuff. I don't care who you are, you know what I'm saying? Oprah, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, everybody go through stuff, you know. Um, it's a lot, a lot of times you just don't know it, you know. And, you know, we may be looking at somebody right now and are envious of their life and don't even know that they, that they, they struggling inside, you know what I'm saying? Like, they're struggling there, um, you know, trying to make, you know, things happen, you know what I'm trying to say? So Please run your own race. Please stop trying to copy what other people are doing. Stop coveting attention and what people want and all that stuff. I promise you, just for privacy, I'm not even going to mention the conversation, but I had 2 conversations with some high-level people that if you look online, you think everything is all good. You know what I'm saying? High level. Um, but they going through stuff, you know what I'm saying? And, and, and, you know, luckily, you know, I'm not enamored by fame. None of that matters to me. Um, you know, truth be told, fast out to my brother Storm is in the building. You know, Storm and I have this conversation all the time. Um, you know, and then, you know, it just is what it is. I ain't— I was, I was about to say humbly, but it just is what it is. Like, um I've had the light all my life, like, you know what I'm saying? So like sometimes people, uh, you know, might— oh, like it might look new to you, but I, I had the light all my life. Like when I was in junior high school, you know what I'm saying? Like I was in junior high school, I had the light. When I was in high school, like I've always been— I've always had the light, right? I've always had the light, um, which is why I'm not like enamored. Like I've always been around Pop, you know, popping people. Like, if you, uh, if you know, if you know, you know. When I, you know, when I grew up in Harlem, like, I wasn't— I was outside, you know what I'm saying? I was with— I was with the best of them, you know what I'm saying? Um, and why do I say that? I'm not enamored by the light, and thank God I'm not, because it allows me to be a, um, uh, a shoulder, you know what I'm saying? It allows me to be a shoulder. It allows me to be a support system. It allows me to not You know, you know, it just allows me to be a shoulder. You know, it allows me to understand what people are going through. It allows me to not, you know, be judgmental. It allows me to be human and treat people like humans and not treat people like bigger than life. But I say that to say, you know, please, please, please run your own race. Run your own race. You know what I'm saying? Do not covet what other people are doing. Um, you know, do not look at somebody else and think that they, they water is different, their grass is greener. We all going through the same thing. I don't care if this is a multi-millionaire, I don't care if somebody got zero, you know, negative in their account. We all go through the same thing. Run your race, stay focused on what, you know, focus on your focus. Stay focused on what you're supposed to be focusing on. Um, and life is just gonna be better that way, you know what I'm saying? You know, comparison is the is is the thief of joy. Like if you could, if you if you're comparing your life to somebody else's life, you are you're you're allowing your joy to be stolen, right? And and and what and what be working for somebody else might not even be working for them. You might think it's working for them, but it might it might not even be working for them.
Or because you need to be affirmed, you're doing what they want you to do, and I promise you, if I go out, I'm going out easy.
Yap, yap.
Yap, yap. Feel it in the air, we feel it in the air.
One thing I know about life is a guarantee: change is inevitable. As much as you like to be in your comfort zone, As much as you like to be stable, as much as you like to control your environment, the reality is everything changes. If you're doing real good, at some point something bad's gonna happen in your life. Look, life is gonna throw some serious blows. It's going to throw you some serious obstacles. You have to learn to turn and look at every obstacle as an opportunity. You know life is gonna happen. As long as you believe in you, you got the right mindset, you got the right attitude, we can make it happen.
Feel it in the air tonight, y'all. Yo, you've been waiting for this moment your whole life.
I don't run with people who count on me to put up 50 points. I run with people who put up 50 of their own. I put up 50, they put up, and we murder you. So look, Mike, that's why I respect Mike. If I can kill you, I'm killing you. I'm not giving you life. I'm not giving you no doggone game. I'm murdering you. If you keep going forward, you're going forward. Mike ain't sweeping one team and then going 7 with another team. I'm sweeping everybody. I'm gonna tell you something, Mike.
Why?
Because I'm putting up 50 every night. I'm not missing no people. I'm MJ. I ain't missing jack.
That's who I run with.
My people don't miss a sighting. My top dogs don't miss a sighting. When it's their turn to do what they do, they do it with no flaw. And then I get up when I'm supposed to get up and murder. You putting up 50, your squad putting up 12. You don't stand a chance. We got that dog.
Yeah.
We ain't reactive.
All right, feeling in the air, y'all. Feeling in the air, y'all. My people don't miss assignments. Yep, yep.
Life pumps you, life pumps you, life pumps you and say, do you really want this?
Do you really want it?
I'm gonna give your wife MS.
Do you really want this?
Do you really want this?
5 of your aunts gonna die of cancer. Do you really want this?
Do you really want this?
You gonna lose Friends.
Do you really want this?
You gonna lose friends.
Your mama gonna be pissed when you write the book about y'all family. Do you really want this? Do you really want this? Cousins gonna abandon you. People that you used to be like this with gonna think you bougie, don't want to deal with you. That is a part of it. But I paid too much. If I was gonna quit, I would have quit in the abandoned building when I wanted to commit suicide and take my life. I should have quit when, when I heard my voice say, your mama don't want you, your own daddy don't want you Take your life. I got through that, so why I'm gonna quit over a grade, an F on a grade? Why would I quit because I didn't do well on the master's degree?
Come on.
And so I'm telling y'all, you have come too far to quit now. You have invested too much. I'm too far, too far. You have lost too much to quit now. Get a, get a reward for your pain.
Yeah, yeah.
All my life. All right, y'all, we got like 5 minutes. Last one. I'll take a request for the last one. Um, I'll take a request for the last one. What y'all feeling like? What y'all feeling like? What y'all feeling like? What y'all feeling like? Um, what we doing? What I'm feeling like? Uh, we can go Joy, we can go, um, Pastor Sid. What up, Pastor Sid? Uh, what we feeling like, y'all? Uh, Denzel. I could do Denzel. What y'all thinking? Uh, we got Denzel. Negassi Legacy Group is in the building. Put God first. Uh, always go for some Abraham Hicks. Abraham is there. Uh, Achilles is doing good. All praises due. We got Lisa. Uh, salute, salute, OTW. Uh, Steve, Steve, who's Steve? Who, who I got Steve? Steve who? Surrender. We got Surrender. Who's Steve? Steve what?
Steve—
oh, Steve Harvey. I got Steve Harvey. I like Steve.
Steve Harvey.
Uh, we got Steve Harvey. Uh, OTW, salute, salute. Transport NY, greatness on display. We got Miles. Uh, who else? What else we got? What else we got? Uh, Steve Harvey. Let's see what Steve got. You know what? Yeah, I'm gonna do Steve. Steve Harvey. Uh, God's Plan. We go, we go, we gonna go God's Plan. Steve Harvey chat with Chadwick Boseman. Since we talk about death, since we talk about death and we talking about, uh, it's the lack of sleep. That's a fact though. I'm like, Steve?
Who's Steve?
I got a Steve.
Uh, we're gonna go, we're gonna go Chadwick Boseman. We're gonna go Steve Harvey. Last one, y'all.
Sometimes you need to get knocked down before you can really figure out what your, what your fight is.
Yeah.
And how you need to fight it. Sometimes you need to feel the pain and sting of defeat to activate the real passion and purpose That God predestined inside of you. God says in Jeremiah, I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Hear me well on this day, this day when you have reached the hilltop and you are deciding on—
Oh, salute, Southcare! Salute!
Careers, further education. You would rather find purpose than a job or career. Purpose crosses disciplines. Purpose is an essential element of you. It is the reason you are on the planet at this particular time in history.
This particular time.
Existence is wrapped up in the things you are here to fulfill. Yeah, whatever you choose for a career Remember, the struggles along the way are only meant to shape you.
Yeah, earnyourleisure.com, uh, OTW.
When God has something for you, it doesn't matter who stands against—
doesn't matter who stands against you.
If it's meant for you, God will move someone that's holding you back away from a door, away from a door, and put someone there who will open it for you. I don't know what your future is, but if you're willing to take the harder way, the more complicated—
The more complicated way.
With more failures at first than successes, the one that has ultimately proven to have more meaning, more victory, more glory, then you will not regret it. Press on with pride. And press on with purpose and appreciate what God has brought you through.
You are now listening to mindrightradio.com, the only place to get inspiration and motivation all day, every day.
Talk to God often, even if you're not perfect. Just talk to him every day. You don't have to be in the same faith I'm in, or you ain't got to call God the same thing I call him. But listen to me, you do have to call him though. It's not gonna make your life easy. Faith don't make it easy. Faith makes it possible. All you want is the strength to get through your life. On the days that I feel like I'm not gonna make it, on the days that it feels like I can't endure anymore, I think back on my track record for surviving all my bad days, and so far, surviving all my bad days, my track record is 100%. It ain't about the money. I know a lot of very, very rich people that's miserable, not happy at all. I can bet you most of you are happier than most of the people I know, and I know some very, very wealthy people. And money don't make you happy. It helps you through a lot of situations. You know, the only thing about money— money takes all emergencies and turns them into mere inconveniences. That's what money does. Money gonna change your life a little bit, folks. All of you gonna get more, but you gotta ask for it. But if that's your desire to get more of it, you gotta ask God for it. If you want to be happy or successful, you got to ask God for it. Most people don't have the life of their dreams because you don't ask God for it. You have not because you ask not. If you up your ask, he will up his give. If you change what you ask God for, he immediately changes what he gives to you. You don't need an education to be successful. I know I flunked out of school. What God has for you Quit tying it in education. People kill me. I know people got 2 degrees, finna go back to school, get another. If you got 2 of them that ain't working for you, why would you go get another one of them? I know people that's mastered a PhD though, ain't even working. You don't need that. I'm telling you, man, your whole success is tied in your relationship to God. You can simplify this By getting in touch with your creator. That's your key, man. Everything you're going through is preparing you for what you asked God for.
Everything.
You just gotta quit tripping while you in the process.
Stop tripping while you in the process.
It's necessary.
Process is necessary.
You may not see it now, but when he gets you on the other side of it, you're gonna see exactly why it went that way, and you're gonna be okay with it. But quit tripping during the process. Oh Lord, why me? You ain't the only one. Oh Lord, why me? You ain't the only one. Oh Lord, why I lose my job? You ain't the only one unemployed. Pull yourself together and quit tripping because you in the process. God is processing you. He ain't through with you. If he was through with you, you would not wake up in the morning. He gonna fix it. Everything is wrong. First of all, let me tell you this right here. Why are you tripping? Everything is happening to you as God is processing. Every difficult moment you're having, he just processing. That's all he doing. Everything you're going through is preparing you for what you asked God for. And if you need to be tough when you get to where you're going, then he gonna toughen you. If you got to be more caring along the way, He gonna let you have some trials come your way that's gonna have to produce that in you. See, the route you on right now is the route you got to take, and it's very uniquely yours. This thing you going through, this just uniquely yours. You just gotta understand you ain't the only one. You ain't the only one going through it. Now, in the order that it's gonna happen, it's just yours. You have not because you ask not. It simply say you have not because you ask not. But you don't ask because you ain't got that together. When you ask God for something, quit tripping.
Quit tripping.
He got it from him. God can't give you what you want.
Yep.
Because you want to hold on to what you got.
Yep.
You all in the way. Now you telling him how to bless you. You can't tell God how to bless you. It's a simple process. The only reason I'm telling you this Because this is how I made it. I just do me.
Do you.
I'm just being me.
Be you.
I stay uniquely who I am.
Stay uniquely who you are.
Just the way you are. Yeah, because God made you uniquely who you are. He wanted you to be just like you are. See, God made us very different. This is a— this God we got, God is amazing. He created you so individual. Do you know that it's close to 8 billion people on Earth now? Do you know that it's almost 8 billion people on the Earth? Do you know how many billions of people have died? Do you know that if you dig up all them people that have died and all the people that are presently here and every last one of them that he gonna make in the future, Not one of you have the same fingerprint.
Who do that?
Who could possibly be so precise in his infinite wisdom that he created you so uniquely that ain't no 2 people got the same thing?
Ain't no 2 people got the same fingerprint.
That's real crazy.
Sometimes you need to get knocked down before you You can really figure out which—
everything is God's plan, y'all, and how you need to fight it. God's plan, y'all.
Sometimes you need to feel the pain and sting of defeat to activate the real passion and purpose that God predestined inside of you. God says to Jeremiah, I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, And not to harm you.
Plans to give you hope and a future.
Hear me well on this day, this day when you have reached the hilltop and you are deciding on, on next jobs, next steps, careers, further education. You would rather find purpose than a job.
Purpose, y'all. Purpose, y'all.
Purpose.
Purpose crosses discipline. Purpose is an essential element of you. It is the reason you're on the planet at this particular—
it's the reason why you're on here right now.
Very existence is wrapped up in the things you are here to fulfill. Whatever you choose for a career path, remember the struggles along the way are only meant to shape you for your purpose.
Yep.
When God has something for you, it doesn't matter who stands against.
It doesn't matter who stands against.
If it's meant for you, God will move someone that's holding you.
God will move someone who's holding you back and put someone there, put somebody there for you, will open it for you.
I don't know what your future is. I don't know what your future is, but if you are willing to take the heart away—
Yep, Shane should be at school. Shout out to Shane, out in London.
The one that has ultimately proven To have more meaning, more victory, more glory, then you will not regret it.
You will not regret it.
Press on with pride.
Yep.
And press on with purpose.
With purpose.
And appreciate what God has brought you through.
Mind Right Radio.
Y'all appreciate what God has brought you through.
From Mind Elevation.
