Baby, I got some All right, y'all, welcome, welcome, welcome to the Ashcast Show every Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 9 AM Eastern Standard Time. Tell a friend to tell a friend. Um, make sure you go to ashcastshow.com, subscribe to the podcast, go to ashcasttv.com, subscribe to YouTube channel. So, um, so first and foremost, first and foremost, first and foremost, I, I'm— I know, um, that people are waiting— not people waiting, but I— so, so last night was the Versus. Versus was dope. Uh, salute to NY, period, uh, for having a classic, a classic joint, you know what I'm saying? Panther Inc, thank you for the badge love. You know, fast shout out to NY, uh, for having a classic joint. So 2 things I'm gonna say to you, 2 things I'm gonna say to you is that number one, number one, um, you know, no one— I don't think, in my opinion— thank you, Styles, for the badge love. I don't think nobody who, who said Dipset uh, said that with the anticipation that Dipset was gonna out-rap the Lox, right? Like, like anybody, anybody, like, like, like if you really, uh, if you really a fan, right? If you really a fan, there's not one person— I don't know one person, not one person who said, yo, Dipset, and in their mind was like, yo, Dipset is gonna out-rap the Lox.
That's not even possible. Anybody who thought that is sick in the head.
Like, you don't listen to music, you know what I'm saying? So if anybody, anybody who was throwing up the Dipset, uh, uh, prior to the— prior to, right, anybody who was saying Dipset, they were not talking about rapping. They were not saying, yo, Dipset's going to out-rap the Lox. That, that's not what they were saying. What they were saying was, right, what they were saying was that Dipset, right, first of all, first of all, first of all, um, Dipset— I mean, first of all, if you from Harlem, you had to pick the Dipset, in my opinion.
I could— I, I— that's, that's how I was raised.
I'm not, I'm not like You know, I don't make the rules on who you should rock with and all that. You know what I'm saying? I don't make the rules. Um, but it's like, it's like if, if, if you from Detroit, right? If you from Detroit and Big Sean was, was going up against, I don't know, uh, because that, because that, because that could be a, that could be an argument. Let me just say, like, if I can't use Big Sean, right?
But like, if you're from— if you—
I can't use Big Sean because Big Sean is nice, um, lyrically. Who's a great example, right? It's like, um, let's, let's, let's say, let's say, let's say, let's say, um, you know, let's say Big Sean was going against Jay-Z. I don't know, I'm just using as an example, right?
If you from Detroit, you gotta pick Big Sean, right?
Like, whoever Big Sean is going against, you have to pick him, you know what I'm saying? Like, you have to do that, right? And so there's no way— that's why, that's why my first post I said this is the toughest decision I've ever made in my life, right?
You know why? Because I know every single Lock song, every single feature, word for word. Test me on it. Every single one, word for word.
Right?
So I would never, I never in no way, shape, or form thought that they were gonna, they were gonna outwrap, that Dipset was gonna outwrap the Lox. That's not possible. Like you, you, you're sick in the head if you think that.
You know what I'm saying? And so, and so it's still Dipset. It's still Dipset. You know why?
Because um.
First and foremost, first and foremost, um, it's just how I'm cut. That's just— I'm just gonna say that, you know what I'm saying? That's just how I'm cut, right? But number 2, number 2 is this, you know, and I'mma keep it— I'mma keep it 100. I'mma keep it 100% for you, right? Um, this is a classic, um, this is a classic example of Uh, preparation will always beat unpreparation all the time, right?
All the time.
And so, you know, obviously the, the Lox won, right? Um, but they were obviously prepared. They obviously took this assignment serious, right? No knock to my Harlem brethren.
It's still love.
Thank you for the badge love.
It's still love. It's still love.
There's no, there's no love lost.
But the locks understood the assignment, and this is a classic case of even if you got the talent, because the truth be told, truth be told, um, if you're a fan of Dipset, you know they, they, they could have, they could have ran that, they could have ran that way better.
They could have ran that way better, like That wasn't even a right performance. They was talking over each other like they didn't have no chemistry, you know what I'm saying?
Like they didn't really have no chemistry, Dipset, you know what I'm saying?
Like they had way more hits, way more things that they could have done, right? And so, so number one, the preparation wasn't there, right?
Number two, number two, number two.
Is that, um, they— how can I say it? Um, it was the Lox versus Dipset, right? And so to be fair, to be fair, there was a good balance between what Dipset did as far as like everybody had an equal time to shine But that was the Jadakiss show, respectfully. That was the Jadakiss show, right? Because the truth be told is, I don't know, see, y'all, y'all might not be fans, and so all y'all remember is Ruda Tuda cam, right? All y'all remember is like Ruda Tuda, Buddha Buddha, that's what I usually do, right? That's when he got tired of it. Right? That's that. That's when Cam got tired of it.
But if it were, if if if if if we got come home with me, Cam. That's me, Cam. Like like uh uh I don't understand how you can't sip daiquiris. Like it's all good down in the hip the factory. Up in 54th whole click back at me. Take your wrist rappery.
I ain't no rapper.
B I skate Uzis and I can't rap. Turn down two more. 10 movies. So give me your chain, your food, and your cash, and your fast food. I eat your food fat. Like, if, if we got— come home with me, Cam.
Y'all bugging, yo. If, if it was Cam versus Jada and it was lyrically, it'd have been different. But it was Jada versus Dipset. And so y'all can say what y'all want to say. Number one, Dipset wasn't prepared. Right, and that's on them because they they definitely could have did a better job. They had way more better hits. They could have did a better job. Number one. Number two, right? Number two is it was Jada, right? It was Jada, and then Dipset was like, "All right, we gonna we gonna we gonna balance this out." Like No disrespect to my guy Jim. I love Jimmy. But why why you doing Bird Gang songs?
Like you know what I'm trying to say? Like like they they they could have they could have did it a little better.
So that's just my that's just my two thoughts. You know what I'm saying? My my my my uh was it uh my two my two cents. But it's still Dipset though, and I don't think I don't understand. You know what I'm saying? Like I don't think y'all understand. Like You know, it it it just is what it is. You know what I'm saying? Like, fast shot.
And like I said, Jada is top five dead or alive.
Always been though.
You know what I'm saying? Like, you know me. Always been.
Always been.
Always been.
Top five dead or alive. And and I'm happy though. I'm happy that he's getting the recognition that people see my guy can spit.
You know what I'm saying?
Um, so that's it. The Jada Show, shout out to my guy, you know what I mean? Salute, salute to both of them, you know what I mean? Salute to both of them. Um, all right, all right, so, so, so salute that. All right, so we— so, so in that vein though, we're doing daily word, daily aspiration. Let's, let's, let's, let's talk, let's talk about winning.
Let's talk about Let's talk about—
let's talk about winning, because that will— because, because you were born to be a winner. Um, you're right, Ash. Yet the Lox, uh, been together, uh, since the early Clue mixtape. Dipset stay beefing over the Years album. Yeah, yeah, that's—
you know what I mean?
Uh, uh, I thought a Dipset fan said something. Look, look, so Jada won last night. Fat shot. Lox with mind, body, and soul in there. Now it was it was great though, and for the culture though, you know what I'm saying? It was great for the culture, so I'm happy. Yeah yeah, Cam gave up after a while. Harlem all day.
Look look look look.
Came came for war. Jada came for war.
You know what I'm saying?
Nah, it's a fact.
They was prepared.
They they they was prepared. But we gonna go daily aspiration. If you know, you know.
If you know, you know.
It's time to win.
It's time to win. Oh, oh, happy Wednesday, my winners of life and non-understanders of defeat. Welcome to the day that you realize That you are who you say you are, and who you say you are has to be followed with determined action. Today's daily aspiration is dedicated to being a winner. I am about to say the simplest but most profound truth you have ever heard. You ready? Winning is for winners and losing is for losers. Yup, that's a fact.
Those who get used to losing do not have what it takes to be a winner.
The undeniable fact is that winners never look at a temporary defeat as a loss. They look at it exactly how it is—
temporary.
Trials and tribulations are things that we cannot avoid on our road to success, but we must not let that stop us from achieving our goals. Having the will and determination to win is one of the most important aspects of fulfilling our dreams. The going is gonna get tough, but with determination and focus, your possibilities are limitless. Be diligent, be relentless, and be focused. But most importantly, be determined. It's always— it's always too early to quit. Losing is for losers, and chances are you are not that. Keep pushing and make all of your dreams come true. Because as Ayn Rand once said, the question isn't isn't who is going to let me.
The question is who is going to stop me.
Remind yourself of this and take what you deserve. Dip set all day.
Now I'm playing. That's not part of it.
Today's daily word is dedicated or or I'll leave you a couple of quotes. First one's by Reggie White, and it says the heaviest burdens are placed on those who carry. Carry its weight.
Patrick, thank you for the fast love.
Next quote, which is an unknown quote, and it says, "Don't pray for lighter burdens, but for stronger backs." Last but not least, by Ivan Kino, and it says, "Failure will never overtake you if your determination to succeed is strong enough." Um, so today's daily.
Today's daily aspiration is dedicated to winning. On our road to success, I really need us to stay focused on winning, right? I posted this earlier. I posted this earlier and it said, you know, losers focus on winners, you know what I'm saying? And winners focus on winning. It's imperative, right? It's imperative. that we focus on, uh, just winning and, and, and not focusing on winners, right? And, and this is not— I'm gonna talk about the battle rap anymore. That's, that's done. I said what I said. Um, but as it relates to your journey, um, I think one of the biggest mistakes that we, that we do, uh, that we've ever done, right, is that what we'll do is as we're on our journey, um, instead of focusing on what it's going to take uh, for us to get, uh, to the, to the finish line, to our finish line, right? Uh, instead of focusing on what it's going to take to get to our finish line, what we're doing is we're watching other people get, you know, and, and see how they, how they're maneuvering, how they're working, and how they're doing things. And we're so focused on them, and we're so focused on their finish line and them winning, that we don't— we're not even Um, you know, we're not even, uh, taking the time, right? We're not even taking the time to say, all right, you know what, I'm going to, uh, make sure that I'm going to get to my finish line. Because the truth of the matter is that, uh, not everybody, right? The truth of the matter is that not everybody has the same finish line. Like, I remember, um, watching somebody, um, who looked like they was going in the same direction, right? Like, I was, I was, I was watching, and I mean, you know, full transparency, you know, instead of focusing on what I needed to focus on, um, I was focusing on them. And I'm watching, you know, I'm watching somebody get to their finish line, and I'm like, oh, they're doing it this way, oh, they're doing it that way, oh, this, oh, that, oh, this, um. And then come to find out, like, the finish line, what, you know what I mean, wasn't even the same. You know what I'm saying? Like, like, like what, um, what I, what, what I, what I wanted, even though it looked the same, you know what I'm saying? To be honest, right? Like, like, like on the surface, when you looked at what they were doing and you looked at what I was doing, it was like, oh, you know, y'all going in the same direction. But the truth of the matter is that there was— we weren't even going in the same direction, you know what I'm saying? Um, and so While I spent so much time watching and saying, oh, they going, they going that way.
All right, let me, let me, let me make sure, right?
Instead of staying on my path, I'm like, let me make sure that they don't know something that I don't know. And then, you know what I mean? So they might have the back door. So I'm following them and following them, um, and then all of a sudden I realized that we're not even going to the same direction, right? We're not, we're not, we're not even going to the same direction. Like, like, we're not even, um, you know, we're going to different spots. And that, and that's the thing is that, um, we don't even want the same thing. I'll be honest with you, a lot of us, like, you watching it, you watching, you know, somebody in your same business, you're watching somebody online, you're watching on someone on TV, and you don't even know what it takes to be them.
But you—
but I promise you, if you spent the day with them, you don't even really want their life.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, you don't really— you don't really want what they— what they— what they— what they want or what they have. Um, and so you might as well just focus on winning, you know. Um, you got 151 days, right? You got 151 days, uh, left, you know, in 2021. Uh, 2022, in God's will, is gonna be a special year. Um, and it's— it's really time for you to— for you to buckle down.
Right?
You buckle down. Uh, you can accomplish all of anything you say you was gonna accomplish in 2021. You could do that in 150 days easy. You can do that in 150 days easy, right? And so I need you to buckle down. I need you— all right, I got 150 days left. Uh, you know what I'm saying? And we're gonna buckle down. We're gonna get focused. You know what I'm saying? All praises due. Top of the top. Um, we got 150 days left. And and we're gonna buckle down, and we're gonna make sure that you know we're gonna do what what's necessary to finish this strong. Build your strong foundation in God's will. Twenty twenty two, you know I'm saying that's them angel numbers two two two. It's gonna be a special special year. And if if you position yourself effective immediately, right? If you have the winning attitude, if you if you understand the assignment. You'll be in a good position.
Hello, this is Earl Nightingale. Before we start, I'd like you to know that I'm not going to try to tell you how to live your life. That's none of my business, nor is it anybody else's business. That's your business. Nor is this Lead the Field program a collection of pleasantries, platitudes, or Pollyanna. It is a summation of more than 20 years of research on one subject, and that is Why do some people do so well in life while so many more do not? And the first thing let's talk about is the magic word. The experts call it the most important word as far as the results we get from life are concerned, in this or any other language. And that word is attitude. It is our attitude toward life which will determine life's attitude toward us. Let's face the fact honestly that we shape our own lives. And the shapes of them will be determined by our attitudes. A person with a poor attitude toward learning, for example, isn't going to learn much until he changes his attitude. If we take the attitude that we cannot do something, we generally will not do it. An attitude of failure, and we're whipped before we start. So we know then that what we receive from life, what we accomplish or fail to accomplish, is due in large measure to our overall attitude. William James of Harvard University put it this way, the greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind. And isn't it wonderful that we have this measure of control? Before we start talking about our attitude toward the world, let's talk about our attitude toward ourselves, since it is the attitude we take toward ourselves which determines our attitude toward the world. Now, right here we come to a rather strange fact. We're so familiar with ourselves, we tend to take ourselves for granted. We tend to minimize the things we can accomplish, the goals we can reach, and for some equally strange reason, believe others can accomplish things in our field which we cannot. There are literally millions of human beings living narrow, darkened, frustrated lives, living defensively simply because they take a defensive, doubtful attitude toward themselves. And as a result, toward life in general. Many people are suspicious of and oppose change, yet change is the one thing in life on which we can absolutely count. People who stay young all the years of their lives not only welcome change, but see it for what it really is: new opportunity, new chances for further fulfillment. Attitude is a reflection, a result of a person's will. It is incalculably powerful. It can bring about marvelous results for us, but we need to train it patiently, day by day. Now let's talk about the attitudes of people who are successful, the top 5% of the people who go sailing through life from one success to another, and who, even when they fail at something, shrug it off and head right on. No matter who the person is or what he does— men and women in sales, business executives, people in all the professions— Wives and mothers, students, top people in the armed forces, public servants, men and women in the service of religion, working men and women in all fields of endeavor. Wherever you find a person doing an outstanding job and getting outstanding results, you will find a person with the right kind of attitude. These people take the attitude toward themselves that they can accomplish what they set out to accomplish, that there's no good reason on earth why they can't be competent Successful. They have a healthy attitude toward themselves, and as a result, toward life and the things they want to accomplish. And because of this, they achieve some remarkable things, and they come to be called successful, outstanding, brilliant, lucky, and a lot of other things. They're quite frequently no more brilliant or outstanding than the majority of the people by whom they're surrounded, but they did develop the right attitude, and they found their accomplishments not It's not too difficult, and many times it's easy simply because it seems so few are really trying, really believe in themselves. Successful people come in all shapes and sizes and in widely varying degrees of intelligence, background, and so on, but they all have one thing in common: they expect more good out of life than bad. They expect to succeed more than they fail.
Yep.
If you want something worthwhile, what do you expect? Take the attitude that there are a lot more reasons why you can have it than there are that you cannot, and set out to earn it. Go after it, work at it, ask for it, and 9 times out of 10, you'll get it. Our environment is really a mirror of our mental attitude. If we don't like our environment, we have to change our attitude first. Now, the world plays no favorites. It's impersonal. It doesn't care whether we change or not. Adopting a good, healthy attitude toward life doesn't affect the world and the people in it nearly as much as it affects us. It would be impossible to even estimate the number of jobs which have been lost, the number of promotions missed, the number of sales not made, the number of marriages ruined by poor attitude. But you can number in the millions the jobs which are held but hated, the marriages which are tolerated but unhappy, all because of people who are waiting for the world and others to change toward them instead of being big enough and wise enough To at least make a test which will prove beyond any shadow of a doubt where most, or at least a big part of the trouble lies. Studies made of the lives of literally thousands of successful people have shown that they radiate confidence, assurance. They expect success and they get success. You can spot these people by the way they walk, by the way they look and act. You can feel it about them when they enter a room. They may be short and fat, or Tall and thin or any combination in between, but they have about them the attitude of success.
Attitude of success.
In the record Greener Pastures, I'll get into this next statement, but right now I want you to realize, if you don't already, that in 5 years or less you can get right to the top of the work you're now doing. I know this, but the important question here is, do you know this? The minute you do know it, you have this right attitude I'm talking about. The easiest and most effective means of forming a good attitude habit is to begin to act as though you have a good, positive, expectant attitude toward life. That's right. Begin right now to walk, act, and look as though you belong to this group. If you're already in the top five percent, you know what I mean. If you've never tried it, you'll be amazed at what happens. Actions trigger feelings, just as feelings trigger actions. Now, let me tell you a little test you can make which will prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that a good attitude can change a person's life as dramatically as walking from a darkened room into the bright, clear light of day. Not long ago, I read a line which went, life is dull only to dull people. This is true, but it also could have read—
That's so true, Dad.
Life is interesting only to interesting people, or life is successful only to successful people. And what I'm trying to say is that you must first become mentally, from an attitude standpoint, that which you wish to achieve. A famous restaurateur was being interviewed by a reporter who asked, when did you become successful? He replied, I was successful when I was sleeping on park benches because I knew what I wanted to do.
Oh, wait.
That I would do it.
Wait.
In short, his attitude—
Wait, wait. Yo, I said this yesterday, right? And Earl Nightingale said this many years ago as well. He said he interviewed somebody who was successful and he asked that person, when did you know you were successful? And the person said, I knew I was successful while I was sleeping on park benches. I think— I don't think y'all understand that. I think, I think, I think y'all think I'd be joking. I think y'all think I'd be joking. I think, I think, I think y'all think that, that, that, that I'm just pulling stuff out of the air, right? He said, yo, I was successful when I was sleeping on, on park benches, right? Because I knew what I wanted and I knew where I was gonna go.
Right?
And I think that too many people, too many people, and some of us, some of you who are listening to right now are that. Some people look at their current circumstance, right? Some people look at their current circumstance as the barometer for where they will end up or the level of success that they're gonna have.
And they only gain confidence, right?
They only gain confidence in who they are as things start to change in their life. Uh, I'll be honest with you, if that's you, then you playing the wrong game. If you don't feel like you the ish, whether you got a negative balance in your bank account or 6 and 7 figures in your bank account, Then I don't think success is for you. If you don't, if you don't believe in your abilities unwaveringly regardless of what your outside situation looks like, then I don't think you're really ready for a real level of success.
Because those who understand success and obtain success are successful be, be before The physical things happen. You know why?
Because of infinite possibilities, right? There are infinite possibilities.
So if, if, if your chances— look, and this is a ball I made, this is my quote— if your chances are a million to one, you still got a 50/50 chance.
Do the math.
If you got—
if your chances of succeeding is a million to one, you still have a 50/50 chance. You know why? Because there's infinite possibilities. All you got to do is get to that one, right?
And as long as there's one way to succeed, then you still—
you still got a shot.
A lot of us are looking at the odds like, oh, what's the odds Of of a million to one, and so no. Who's gonna be the one though?
Who's the one?
If your chances are a million to one, who's the one?
You don't believe you could be the one.
You don't believe that you're not the one. And so you rather look at odds. Oh, what's the odds of somebody who grew up who who who was who was raped at fourteen, who was abused. Was called ugly, that was fat.
What's the odds of that person becoming a billionaire? It's slim, but it happens.
It's—
the chances are slim, but it happened. Oprah Winfrey, right? Like, like, like, we keep— like, like, you got to understand that, that a winning att— you're gonna win if you have a winning attitude. You're gonna win. We keep looking at odds. We keep letting these mathematicians and people who study statistics, we keep letting them tell us, oh, the odds. Oh, the odds are—
oh no, the odds of doing that. Oh no, you know, a drug dealer from the projects becomes a billionaire. Oh my God.
That's not— never.
Dead or in jail. That's never going to happen.
Right?
And we listen. When you— if you tapped into the source, you know that you got infinite possib—
all right, go ahead.
Dude had been one of success, of expecting success. Automatically as walking from a darkened room into the bright, clear light of day. Not long ago, I read a line which went, life is dull only to dull people. This is—
life is dull only to dull people.
Facts.
Life is interesting only to interesting people, or life is successful only to successful people. And what I'm trying to say is that you must first become mentally, from an attitude standpoint, that which you wish to achieve. A famous restaurateur was being interviewed by a reporter who asked, when did you become successful? He replied, I was successful when I was sleeping on park benches because I knew what I wanted to do and that I would do it. In short, his attitude had been one of success, of expecting success long before the material, the tangible rewards of success had been earned. We'll get into this particular phase of lead the field in record number 3, A Worthy Destination. But for now, remember that a person must act, look, and because of these things, feel successful before the success he seeks can come. Chances are, you know people who seem to be what others call lucky. All kinds of good and wonderful things seem to happen to them, and they give the impression of happily sailing through life, having a wonderful time, and getting more accomplished in a year than most people do in 5. This has been figured out fairly scientifically, and if anyone will conscientiously go about the test I'm going to recommend and stay with it every day for the next 30 days without fail, that person can join this small, happy, and extremely productive group of people. He'll find himself becoming lucky, as they say. And most of his problems will pretty well take care of themselves. Of this you can be sure. The results will be nothing short of amazing. Now, it makes no difference how good a person's attitude has been in the past. Anything can be improved upon, and it's the small refinements upon something already good that makes it great. So here's the test. For the next 30 days, act toward the world, everything and everyone with whom you come in contact, with the attitude which represents the kind of results you want to achieve. That is, if the result you want is more success in what you're doing, act as though you are already in possession of the success you seek. If you want others to treat you with admiration and respect, treat others with admiration and respect first. Have you ever stopped to think of this? Every human being on earth is the most important human being on earth as far as he or she is concerned. You may never get anyone to admit it, But it's a fact. So for the next 30 days, treat every person with whom you come in contact as the most important person on earth.
Everybody.
Remembering as you do so that as far as that person is concerned, he is. Now, the reason I say treat everyone in this fashion is mainly because this is the way human beings ought to treat each other, and because it will help you form a habit that will bring you amazing and delightful results for the rest of your life. Have you ever noticed that the higher you go in any organization of value, the nicer the people seem to become? You see, the bigger the person, the easier it is to talk to him, to get along with him, to do business with him. Do you know why? It's because he's got a good attitude, and people with the best attitudes just naturally gravitate toward the top. So for 30 days, act toward others in the world at large in exactly the same manner you want the world and others to act toward you. Treat your wife or husband as the person he or she really is, the most important person in your life. The same with the children. Carry out into the world each morning for 30 days the kind of attitude you would have if you were the most successful human being on earth, and notice how it quickly develops into a habitual attitude. When a person does this, he should realize he has already placed himself on the road to what he seeks. He is right now in the top 5% of the people in this or any other country. He has prepared the ground and planted the seed. He has made of himself a magnet, an embodiment of that which he seeks. Before metal can be cast into a desired shape, the mold, the expectant receptacle, must first be fashioned. Before a building can be erected, the excavation must be made and the foundation laid. And before a person can achieve the kind of life he wants, he must become that kind of individual. He must think, act, talk, walk, and conduct himself in all of his affairs as would the person he wishes to become.
Yep.
He is then actually that person, and the things that person would have and do will naturally come to him. Almost immediately, a change will be noticed. Irritations that used to frustrate and annoy disappear. When some less informed individual gives you a bad time, stay on the track. When someone cuts in front of you with his car or acts in any other manner that shows his ignorance and lack of courtesy, don't permit yourself to drop to his level. Pity him, for that's what he really deserves. That's the very group a person doesn't want to belong to. And if he acts like them, well, let's face it, he belongs with them. There's nothing in the world that men, women, and children want and need more than the feeling that they're important, that they're needed and respected.
Winning attitude.
In order to win, you gotta have a winning attitude.
Business to the person who fills this need. So the magic word is attitude. And in summing up, a few points to keep in mind: one, it is our attitude at the beginning of a task which more than anything else will affect its successful outcome. Two, it is our attitude toward life which determines life's attitude toward us.
This is in there.
We are interdependent. It is impossible to succeed without others.
Authentic purpose.
Thank you for the past attitude toward others. Which will determine their attitude toward us.
4.
Before a person can achieve the kind of life he wants, he must become that kind of individual.
Become that individual.
He must think, act, talk, walk, and conduct himself in all of his affairs as would the person he wishes to become.
Yep.
5.
The higher you go in any organization of value, the better will be the attitude you will find. 6. Your mind can hold only one thought at a time.
That's right.
And since there's nothing at all to be gained by being negative, be positive. 7, the deepest craving of human beings is to be needed, to feel important, to be appreciated. Give it to them and they'll return it to you. 8, look for the best in new ideas. As someone said, I've never met a person I couldn't learn something from. 9, don't waste valuable time broadcasting personal problems. It probably won't help you. It cannot help others. Ten, don't talk about your health unless it's.
Hello, Miss Wendy.
Eleven, radiate the attitude of well-being.
Doc Willie, what up?
A person who knows where he's going. This will inspire those around you, and you'll find good things will begin happening to you. And twelve, lastly, for the next thirty days, treat everyone with whom you come in contact as the most important person in the world. If you do this for thirty days. You will do it for the rest of your life. Now, in closing, remember the words of Walter Dill Scott of Northwestern University: success or failure in any undertaking is caused more by the mental attitude even than by mental capacities.
Thank you.
Yep. You are now listening to mindrightradio.com.
All right, listen.
The only place to get inspiration and motivation. All day, every day.
Wait, Gary Vee, what do you gotta say?
What Gary—
what Gary Vee gotta say about winning? You are now tapped in and tuned in. mindrighteradio.com.
The reason winners win is because they don't give a shit what you think about their losses.
Uh-uh. Wait, hold on. The reason why winners win, because they don't get—
hold on, tell them one more time for those, for those still in my inbox.
Hold on, Gary, talk your talk. Holla.
Reason winners win Is because they don't give a shit.
Zion, thank you for the badge up.
The reason I roll the way I roll is I don't care what your opinion is.
I don't care what your opinion is.
And when you're in that cocoon, then you could just go fast. Because you know, when I love losing more than my biggest competitor loves me losing, well, I'm a John Wick.
What up?
Like, because I love losing. I love the climb. I love the grind.
I love the grind.
The negative.
The negative is the advantage. And when you're losing from the get, when you start off losing, you don't fear losing. You just convince yourself the game is rigged and you start dwelling. If I can get you to stop dwelling, and if I can get you to stop fearing losing, then you're off to the races. I don't care what your point of view is. I went to Mount Ida College, 95% minority kids. I went to school 7 times in the first 14 days that I lived out of college. I got pulled over 4 times. You know why? Because the other 3 kids in the car with me were Black. I'm like, unless you live that, you can't understand that. And I didn't live it. I lived it—
I was close to it, but I'm still not it.
But like, salute, salute, salute to my comrades.
You don't know what you're talking about. In the same way, in reverse, like when I come on shows like this or when I talk to homies, when I'm talking to the And I'm like, yo, I got friends who have $10 million in the bank, trust fund babies who are more miserable than you. They're like, get the hell out of here. I'm like, you have no empathy. That sounds good. What do you think it feels like when you've lost before you started? Because no matter what you accomplish, everybody's gonna be like, your daddy put you on, you suck. And that starts chipping away. There's a lot of youngsters listening, guys. Michael Jackson couldn't get plays on MTV until CBS really threatened to pull everybody off of MTV. Michael Jackson. Like, what more? Like, I know that, like, it feels bad and there's all these things. It's better in life than ever now, not because we're better as people, but because the internet is decentralizing the world. All this cryptocurrency Bitcoin stuff, everybody's— they're not being thoughtful. It's about blockchain and what that technology means, which just means you and I— I can sell you my home, one quick transaction on the blockchain, We both trust it. It's good, and none of the banks at all.
Yes, what up?
Get their hands in our already know.
Shit's going down. So go get yours. Like, like stop telling me you're gonna, or stop telling me like you got held back. Stop bullshitting. Now there's no more excuses. Stop bullshitting. Now there's no hiding. There's no hiding. Here's what's gonna happen over the next hundred years, and I'm glad I'm putting it on film and audio right now because either maybe I'll be alive because technology is changing, or my great-grandkids are gonna be proud of me. We're about to go through the craziest hundred year of human beings. We're going to take one big step backwards. We're in the beginning stages. I think we're gonna have a ten, twelve year of tension about all this shit.
Like, it's not.
By the way, it's not going away tomorrow. You have to understand what's gonna happen. Everybody's gonna get called to the mat. And then what people are gonna realize over the next twenty, thirty years is like, wait a minute. Everybody's flawed on something. Who's perfect? There's not a person in this room that doesn't do something that all the rest. of us would judge as a real bad thing. It's just the way it is. So it's going to take us 40 years to get there, but once we do, people will be like, okay, wait a minute, we need to reset. Like, if everybody's got something, we need to react appropriately to that something. We need to have different conversations. Like, the way we treat alcoholism today or depression today, the way we didn't 30 or 40 years ago—
Ready?
What up?
That scarlet letter is going to change. And what's going to happen is we're going to live totally different lives. Lives, we're going to be far more accepting of shortcomings over time because the hypocrisy is going to be out the bag. Because if I ever think Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or George Bush or Donald Trump has any impact on me, I'm a fucking loser. Super simple. The president has no impact on your life's happiness. Go do it. The reason winners win is because they don't give a shit what you think The adversity, the negative, is the advantage. If I can get you to stop dwelling, and if I can get you to stop fearing losing, then you're off to the races. I don't care what your point of view is. I don't care what your point of view is. The reason winners win is because they don't give a shit what you think about their losses. The adversity, the negative, is the advantage. If I can get you to stop dwelling, and if I can get you to stop fearing losing, then you're off to the races.
Listen, let me tell y'all something, right? Let me tell y'all something. There's no other way to say this, but failure and losing is part of success. Failure and losing is part of success. Failure and losing is part of success.
Failure and losing is part of success. Failure and losing is part of success. Failure and losing are part of success. If you are, if you are afraid to lose, if you are afraid to fail, then you are afraid of success, period. If you are afraid of losing, if you are afraid of failure, you are afraid of success because you cannot It is not possible for you to get to success without losing, without failure. The reason why people stay losers, the reason why people stay failures, is because they lose one time and they never get back up. They fail one time, they never get back up. If you understand that losing and failure is part of success, losing And failure are part of success. Give me the beat. Losing and failure are part of success. Losing and failure are part of success. Stop being afraid to lose. Stop being afraid to fail. Because if you're afraid of those 2 things, you're afraid of success, and success will never happen.
And you owe you— you owe it to yourself to win. You owe it to yourself to be successful. You owe it to yourself to live your best life. Like, you owe it to yourself. You owe it to yourself. You woke up this morning and God gave you another breath, and I need you to focus on being successful, which means yes, are you going to take some L's? Absolutely.
Right? Are you gonna fail? Absolutely. But just never give up because you owe you. You owe you.
Exclusive.
Dad, talk to me.
You can't make me want what I don't want. You can't dangle something in front of my face that I don't want that. And many of you are taking anything because you don't know what you want. And so if I can do one thing for you when you leave this Wendy, appreciate the badge love.
Thank you.
But for you to leave this room and know what you want— what do you want in your marriage? What do you want with your son and your daughter? What do you want in your health? What do you want financially? Like, how much money do you want to make a year? What do you want to drive? How do you want to live? Stop just waking up like an accident. What do you want? And then once you find out what you want, spend the rest of your natural life waking up Ain't going after it. The reason why I speak with so much passion— ET, why do you speak with so, so much authority? Because I'm talking about my life, not something that I read. I ate out of trash cans.
I had no business eating out of trash cans.
I lived in abandoned buildings. I had no business living in abandoned buildings. But ET, your daddy wasn't in your life. Your mom was a teenage mother. You grew up Come on, look at your shirt. That's not an excuse. There is no excuse for not living up to your full potential. No excuse. I told you, I didn't get a new daddy. I didn't get a new mama. What changed? I changed. And I stopped being a victim. I stopped saying I've got to wait for good things to happen to me. And I said, I'm gonna grind. I'm going to fight. I'm going to work. I'm going to press forward. I'm going to learn. I'm going to do everything in my power Every single day, every single day, I'm going to do everything in my power to become a victor, not a victim. Now let me say this before I move forward, and I can't explain it, but you better feel me.
Winners win, losers lose.
I can't explain it any better than that. I don't know how it happens, but winners win. And if you create a culture of losing, if you keep being a victim, if you keep letting losing happen to you, If you keep letting people do you and treat you any kind of way, it's gonna become a culture. I can't explain it to you, but you better stop making excuses and find a way to win. Because once you start winning, you go from $1,500 to $3,000 to $5,000 to $7,000. You remember, C? From $7,000 to $10,000, nothing changed. We still in the basement. We don't have a building. We still use the garage for all of our products.
Everything.
We don't have business cards. We don't have a 5-year plan. We don't have a 3-year plan. How do you do it then? We wake up and grind. Winners win. I focus more on winning than I focus on structure. I focus on winning. And when you become a winner, they start seeing you with winners. You get from being a loser low self-esteem, doubt, and fear.
You can find your way on this side.
You want— you know what's so funny? We want people to make guarantees to us, but we're not willing to make guarantees to ourselves.
Like, you—
somebody gave you a guarantee, $30, 30-day guarantee. In 30 days, if you don't make what they told you it's gonna make in 30 days, you got an attitude, you want your money back. But you've never demanded your money back from yourself. You've never Look at yourself in the mirror and said you let you down? Until you get to that point, you let you down. You've never— you're not brave enough. You want to put it on somebody else. The reason why I'm not successful is because of my boss. Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and said, I'm not getting up on time, I'm not going to work on time, I'm not putting in 120% when I'm at work, I let me down? And when you get to the point where you can say you let you down, I don't care. Listen to me, no disrespect.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm not I gonna lie, I'm not gonna lie.
don't care about Glenn. That's not why I do what I do. And I love Glenn. I don't come here and do what I do so Glenn can affirm me, so he can give me a pat on my back. I care more about me than I care about what Glenn thinks about me. I have standards. I have value. I don't care how much you pay me. If I speak at an elementary school for $300, I chose to do that for $300. If I chose to speak at a prison for free, I chose to do that. And I will not I'm not going there giving those prisoners less than what somebody pays me, $100,000.
Why?
Because I value myself enough to give 120%, or don't do it. That's the problem with some of you. You always want to blame other people. You also want to— you want to hold other people to the fire, but you're not holding yourself to the fire. You just said you're giving 50%. You owe you an explanation. You need to look at yourself in the mirror and say, why are you only giving 50%? You need to put yourself on punishment. You need to tell you no more TV, no more snacks, no more desserts, no more— no, we working out now. No, no more alcohol. Not right now. Not— no, I can't handle it right now. You need to tell you that you owe you something. Stop going back to— you keep going to the mall with the receipt. This is what y'all said it was.
Stop.
What up? I didn't get here making excuses. You can't make me want what I don't want.
Hey yo, hey yo, let me, let me explain something to you, right? You, you're not, you're not gonna get where you need to go making excuses. It's time to win, you know what I'm saying? It's, it's literally time to win. Um, you know, you have to have a winning attitude. You actually, again, you win before— you win in the mind first, you know what I'm saying? Like, you win in the mind first. You don't, you don't, you don't wake up and because you see a, you know, the physical or the, or the outer That that tells you that you're a winner. That's not what makes you win, right? You win in the mind first. And so I I I need you to understand that. I need you to understand that in order to win in life, it starts in the mind. It starts in the mind. You you got you gotta you gotta go you gotta go on.
If the lion is the king of the jungle, how can he be the king of the jungle? If he's not the biggest, he's not the biggest. The elephant is probably one of the biggest.
Yep.
He can't be the fastest because that's the cheetah. He can't be the smartest. So he's not the biggest, the fastest, or the smartest. So how does the lion— how is the lion become the king of the jungle?
Become the king of the jungle?
His mentality.
Mentality.
It's the only difference of a lion and an elephant.
Yep.
When a lion walks up and sees an elephant, he thinks lunch.
He thinks lunch.
An elephant thinks run.
Elephant thinks run.
It's all mentality. Because when a male lion walks up, he may be outnumbered by a pack of hyenas, but I'm king of my jungle because of my mentality.
Because of my mentality.
If an eagle ever sees a bird flying at the same altitude that he's flying at, it must be Another eagle. It must be another eagle, 'cause pigeons don't fly at the altitudes of eagles. And if you find yourself flying with pigeons, you may be flying too low.
Smart.
So you show me your crowd, I'll show you your future.
You show me where you really trying to go in life, I'll tell you what eagles you need to go research.
Push through pain enough and there's glory on the other side. But you got to get through it. Sometimes getting through it is coming out your comfort zone. See, sometimes we're so comfortable now, right? There's a bunch of people sitting in this— it's in this line right now. We didn't have followers. We didn't have nobody encouraging us. We didn't have people to go on Instagram and look at. All we had to do was get up every day and go back to work and start all over again. And the only approval was self-approval.
