8.5.20- The Ash Cash Show

In this episode of the Ash Cash Show, host Ash Exantus greets listeners, celebrates reaching 1,000 YouTube subscribers, and outlines the show’s three‑segment format (inspirational word of the day, financial news, and listener Q&A). He delivers a motivational monologue on self‑knowledge, Black heritage, and personal power, emphasizing the importance of knowing one’s roots and rejecting a victim mindset. The daily word of the day focuses on avoiding distractions by keeping one’s purpose (“why”) front‑and‑center. Ash then provides a market snapshot (NASDAQ, S&P 500, Dow, gold, Treasury, oil) and commentary on COVID‑19, urging safety and scientific trust. He shares several news items: the Lebanon blast, a Black‑focused online counseling platform, Jay‑Z’s Roc Nation School of Music partnership, and a brief take on the Apple 4‑to‑1 stock split. The bulk of the episode is a live Q&A where Ash answers questions about cryptocurrency platforms, sales‑tax obligations for e‑commerce, business systems (document‑delegate), cannabis investing, intellectual‑property protection, and other listener topics. The episode ends with reminders to subscribe to the podcast and YouTube channel.

Please go to ashcashtv.com to subscribe to YouTube channel. We actually made it, so congratulations. We actually made it. Oh, I'm gonna talk about the stock split. We actually made it 1,000. We did it. We have our first 1,000 subscribers on YouTube. So thank you so much for everybody that has subscribed to ashkashtv.com. You know, there's ways, and I'm probably gonna hire like somebody who is good with YouTube and SEO because I feel like, you know, we definitely need 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. And so I'm probably gonna hire somebody to help with that strategy. So if you are somebody that has built You know, built a YouTube channel before. You know somebody who knows how to build a YouTube channel. Please DM me or email me info at you know info at mindrightmoney.com. New wave, you know what I mean? So yeah, because because I definitely want to start building up the the YouTube channel. I do have some a lot of content that I have not released that I want to record. and release and really build that up. Uh, but I'm happy. Uh, it was just something that I wanted to do. I wanted to, to do it organically. I wanted to do it, uh, you know, word of mouth, uh, first 1,000 subscribers. But then, you know, now it's time to kick up, uh, that YouTube strategy. So, uh, you know, that's, that's, that's definitely the next step. Um, you know, salute, salute to, to, uh, Rice and Teas. Uh, so, so I, I was, I was sure You know, our gear is sponsored by Rice and Tees, R-I-C-E-A-N-D-T-E-E-S on Instagram. And so, fast shout out to them. This is a picture of the continent of Africa with all of the other Caribbean flags on there, like all of the Black countries, all of the countries that make up you know, Africa. So, you know, I really appreciate it. And then on the back of the shirt, it actually says, when the roots are deep, you don't have to worry about the wind. And I love that, you know what I'm saying? Because I know that knowledge of self is so important, you know what I'm saying? Like, you know, knowledge of self is so important. It's important that, you know, people understand who they are, where they come from, And understanding knowledge itself is really going to give you the opportunity to realize how great you are, you know what I'm saying? Because I think a lot of people, especially us Black Americans, Blacks in America, a lot of us try to only identify— or not even try, but there's a concerted effort to just have us identify with slavery as a start. But if you understand your history, if you understand where you come from, if you are a melanated person, your origins are in Africa. And yeah, you got to, you know what I mean? You got to know where you come from. You got to know what tribe you from. You got to know the stories, you know what I'm saying? Like, I'll give you an example. Like, for me, Looking up my last name and understanding that my last name, which is Exantis, means the gift of God, right? Like that, that you know put a fire under me. That that that blessed me on on on so many different ways. Knowing that my parents are from Haiti and that Haiti is the first Black Republic, you know what I'm saying? Like that put a fire under me. You know learning the stories of the Mackendals and the you know the the Dutty Bookmans, you know what I'm saying, of the, you know, Dessalines and the Toussaints, you know what I'm saying. Like, understanding that, you know what I'm saying, like, understanding that history. Like, there's no way I could ever be a victim, you know what I'm saying. Like, if I understand, you know what I mean, that's why I got such a connection to Jamaica, right. So, if you understand, you know, who Dutty Bookman is, you know what I mean, do your research, you know what I mean. If you do, if you understand who Dutty Bookman is, You know, Dutty Bookman from Jamaica, you know, was one of the forefathers who helped create the freedom and the republic of Haiti. You know what I'm saying? So, you know, we all family. So, you know, whether it's Blacks in America, whether it's the Caribbean, whether it's Africa, we all family. You know what I'm saying? And if you understand your history, it's hard for people to oppress you. It's hard for people to, you know, to take your power because you actually got the power, right? The power of God, the power of your ancestors, the power of, you know, your spirit. Like, there's— you got the real power. And the goal is to, you know, is to make you feel like you don't have power, right? That's the biggest trick that, you know, that powerless people do. Think about it. Like, I don't even got to go so deep into it, right. Like, just think about in any situation in which somebody is loud or somebody is demeaning or somebody's trying to make somebody feel bad, it's like they don't have the power and they trying to suppress your power. They're trying to make you seem— they're trying to take away your power because they know your power is natural, you know what I'm saying. Like, you know, your power come from God, your power come from your ancestors, you know what I'm saying. Like, Like, you standing on the shoulders of the people that came before you. And so, when you understand that, like, it's hard, you know what I mean? It's hard, like, you know, like, it's hard, hard, hard, hard to oppress a people who know their power. Like, that's why I don't subscribe to, you know, victim mentality. I don't, you know, subscribe to that, you know what I'm saying? Because I believe that— You know, at the end of the day, you know, you're only a victim if you allow yourself to be a victim. You know what I'm saying? I'm telling you, we have the power. And so we just got to use our, you know, our power, you know, our power the right way. Big up Dirty Bookman, a national hero in Haiti who is Jamaican. Nah, fast shout out to Dirty Bookman. You know what I'm saying? Fast shout out to Dirty Bookman. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, Yeah, so, so yeah, so fast shout out to Rice and Teas for the, for the, for the, for the teas. I actually have another Haitian shirt that they sent me that I'll probably be wearing this week as well. So salute, you know what I mean? Salute, you know, fast shout out to when I, when I got these shirts, it was a, it was a 2X, you know what I'm saying? But I, but, but I'm, you know, I'm only wearing this because I'm trying, you know what I mean? I'm supporting, but you know what I'm saying? Like, it's just a lot of, it's a lot of room in here, you know what I'm saying? It's a lot of room in here and I got some weights yesterday too. So, I'm about to bless that bar, you know what I'm saying? I'm about to bless that bar and get right, right, you know what I'm saying? I'm so excited, I'm excited. I mean, I've been excited like this before, but I'm excited. Once you awaken to that power, your whole world change. That's a big fact, like I'm telling you, like, you know, it's a big fact. So, real quick, we're going to talk about, you know, for those, if it's your first time here, Understand— oh yeah, pause, pause, pause. Hey, where I said I was going to bless the barb? Pause, Bragg Rich. Bragg Rich. You know, I said— so, so if it's your first time here, understand that, you know, how the, how the show is broken down. It's broken down into 3 segments. Segment number 1 talks about, you know, the inspirational word of the day. Segment number 2, we focus on, you know, financial news. And then For segment number 3 is Ask Ash Cash. I want to say, you know, I mean, maybe I should say this for the— for— yeah, I'll say this for the inspirational word of the day. You need some fire shades to match that gear. Facts, yo. DM me, you know, I mean, I'll support. I need some shades. DM me, solarbrand.com. Send me, you know what I mean? I mean, I'll support too. Bricklayer Fitness, if you need any help, my brother. Now, I appreciate you. Y'all got my guy Fit Body Mel though. We about to do a challenge, the flipping weight challenge. But I appreciate the bricklayers, you know what I'm saying? But we about to do a challenge. All right, cool, cool, cool. The 21-day— Joy Warrior, the 21-day challenge hit different. Yeah, it's a meditation challenge. You know, great feedback for people who have took it before. I promise you, like, if you follow it, you listen, you meditate with it, you listen to the mantras, you do what's being asked of you, it will help change your life, you know what I'm saying? You have to allow it though. Nothing could change your life unless you allow it, right. Law of attraction is one thing, but law of allowance is another. Like, you could attract disinformation, you could attract everything you want, but at the end of the day, if you don't allow goodness to be in your life, then it's not going to be in your life. I know a lot of people who are self-sabotaging. You know what I'm saying? They— that could have been a daily word too, right? They're self-sabotaging, that they are allowing or they attract things into their lives, but they don't allow it. They don't allow it to blossom. They don't allow it to, you know, to bloom. They find reasons to not be happy. And that's not on God, that's not on the universe, that's on you. You know what I'm saying? Like, you're calling one thing into your life but not really wanting to get it, you know what I'm saying? So, uh, so be careful, you know, make sure that you're allowing. Uh, mindset is definitely everything. Uh, go— I pinned it right there. Go to the21daymoneychallenge.com and use the code COVID-19. The21daymoneychallenge.com and use code COVID-19. Um, and then you'll, you'll actually get, get in there. It's normally, um, it's normally $97, uh, but you could get in there like swimwear, get in there for free. Um, so go to the21daymoneychallenge.com, um, and then you'll be able to get that. Let me just check if, uh, if my YouTube— if my, um, if my Facebook people are back, back on the scene crispy and clean, uh, because I know I, I reconnected So I don't know if Facebook is in the building, um, but fast shout out to everybody who's on the check-in on YouTube, want to check in on Periscope, want to check in, um, where we at, where we at, where we at? Let me look at Facebook. Let me see if, if y'all letting me rock out, you know what I'm saying? Like, if y'all letting me rock out, uh, let's see. There we go, we back to live action on Facebook. We back to live action. Fast shout out to my Facebook folks because they was, they was, they wasn't, they wasn't showing me no love, you know what I mean? We are here. Tatum Booth, what up, what up, Tatum? Yo, they wasn't showing me no love. Facebook had me on punishment, so we back in the building, back on the scene, crispy and clean, you know what I'm saying? Um, all right, dope, dope, dope. All right, so, um, what up, what up, what up, old Rocket? What's the good word? Uh, we live, we, we in the building, we back. YouTube, Facebook. We back on the scene crispy and clean. All right, and so let me go to today's, you know, daily, you know, daily word is dedicated to distractions. And I posted this earlier and it says, distractions don't look like distractions until they finish distracting you. Bars. Understand that distractions do not look like distractions until they finish distracting you. Beloveds, beloveds, we got to stay focused. We got to stay focused. It's important that every day of your life you are reminding yourself of what is your why. Why are you doing what you're doing? What is your purpose? Why are you embarking on the journey that you're embarking? Because I want you to understand that if you are not clear, if you're not clear On your why. If you're not clear as to why you are doing things, right. If you're not clear on why you are on this earth, on why you have the goals that you have, then things will come into your life and they will distract you. And they're not going to look like distractions until they finish distracting you. I need you to understand that. I need you to understand That if you don't keep your why in your mind's eye, that the thing— things will pop up in your life and they will take you off course. They will take you on a detour. They will waste your time. They would take you on these different directions. You need to be solid. You need to be solid in your why. You need to be solid. You need to understand why are you doing what you're doing. You got to be solid, right? You also have to not be afraid of saying no. Do not be afraid of saying no. In 2020, I've said no more times than I've said yes because I realize it's not the time to play. I am not making nobody else's emergencies. I'm not making nobody else's priorities. I'm not making nobody else's urgencies more urgent than why I was put on this earth. I refuse to, right. Like, I get people hitting me up all the time about things that have nothing to do with my why. I have many people, I promise you, I have many people on a consistent basis that are hitting me up about things that have nothing to do with my why. And, and some, some of them are friends, some of them are colleagues, some of them are associates, some of them are people who, um, you know, I, you know, I, you know, who look up to me, who I, you know, at one point, at one point I was like, man, they look up to me, let me support them or whatever. But, uh, if you reach out to me and it has nothing to do with my why, the answer is no. Unapologetically though. I'm not apologizing for nos anymore. I used to. I used to apologize for no. I used to feel bad for no. I used to allow distractions to distract me. The number one question I ask myself when somebody asks for a partnership, when somebody asks for, you know, to do something, collaboration, a phone call, whatever it is, if it doesn't have anything to do with my why, the answer is no. In the words of Curtis Jackson, I got a lot of living to do before I die and I ain't got time to waste, right? Same thing for you. You got a lot of living to do before you die and you ain't got time to waste. We all gonna die, every single last one of us. If you hear the sound of my voice, there will come a day that you are going to die, right? And when, and when you think about Your birth date and your death date, there's a dash in the middle, and you have full responsibility for that dash. You have full, full— there is nobody else that has more response, any responsibility for that dash except for you. Say my name, I make you dash like Dame, right? You are responsible. For that dash. You don't know the death date. You don't know when it's when when when the death date's gonna come. You got the birth date, right? That dash though, that dash is all on you. That dash is all on you. And if you allow other people, circumstances, anything to stand in the way of you fully maximizing that dash, then that's on you. Every single day you need to be asking yourself why. Why are you here? What is your purpose? What are you doing? Who are you serving? What problems are you solving? And every single day, anything that comes onto your plate, does it coincide with your why? Does it coincide with your why? If it's— if it does not, then the answer is no. I get a lot— I'm— I promise you, I get a lot of people asking for stuff. I get a lot of people, um, wanting strategic partnerships. And my first question I always ask, does this align with my why? I don't work for money. So I'm not working for money. I'm working for my why. Because if you are working for your love, or you're working for your why, if you're maximizing that dash, then the money comes. You'll never, you'll never, you'll never need money if you're operating in your God self, if you're operating in your why. It's not even possible. Like, it's not even possible for you to do What— with no fear though, right? Because there's only 2 emotions in the world. There's love and fear. That's it. There's no other emotions. There's love and there's fear. And if you are operating in your why and you're doing what you love, then it's not even possible for you to struggle. It's not even possible for you to want for anything. It's not possible. But what happens is that we don't operate in our why, we don't operate in love because we're operating in fear. Call it what you want, call it security, call it anger, call it reality, I'm being realistic. What's the other one I hear? Call it realistic, call it, you know, whatever you want to call it. If you're operating out of that, if you're doing anything out of that, that's fear. It's fear that's holding you back because it's not even possible. Like, it's an oxymoron. It's not even possible for you to operate in your why, to operate in love and struggle. It's not possible for you to operate in your why, operate in love, and you to need anything. You will always be taken care of when you operate in your true self. Those who are struggling are not operating in their true self, period. If you have any struggle in your life, you are not operating in your true self. And when I say struggle, I'm talking long-term struggle. I'm not talking about temporary struggle. I'm not talking about, you know, I'm not talking about the struggle That the caterpillar goes through to become the butterfly, because that's actually necessary. That struggle is necessary. I struggle all the time, right. There's elevation struggle and there's basic necessity struggle, right. I have elevation struggle, right. There's elevation struggle, that's okay. Elevation struggle is fine. If you get from point A to point B, and there's a struggle from getting point A to point B, that's fine. Right? That's elevation struggle. That's like all right. Each level, you know what I'm saying? Each level you going to, you know there's something that you're gonna learn, and it's really not struggle. It's just you learning. Is that you? You just getting getting strong. You know what I'm saying? Think up think about think about me, for instance. Like I like like like my my goal. is to be cut up and ripped by the end of the year, right. So, I got 5 months, I got 5 months to get cut up, right. And so, while in my 5 months there's going to be struggle, right. I'm going to have to eat right, I'm going to have to do my calisthenics, do my running, right. I'm going to have to, you know, lift the bar, I got to lift that iron, right. And there's resistance in that, like every time I pull up, there's resistance in that, right? That's part of the struggle. I might, you know what I'm saying, like, I might, I might start with a, with, you know what I'm saying, uh, with, with 200 pounds and do that easily. But if I want to get to 400 or 500 pounds, then I'm gonna have, you know what I'm saying, like, I'm gonna have to fight through that, right? But, but sooner or later, 500 is gonna, is gonna feel like nothing to me. So that's, that's elevation struggle. We're not talking about elevation struggle. I'm not talking about that. That's part of— that's part of the game. That's, that's part— that's part of the agenda. Elevation struggle. But that, that day-to-day struggle, that trying to figure out how you gonna— how you gonna, you know, how you gonna eat struggle, that, that day-to-day, yo, I hate what I'm doing, I'ma do it anyway because I have to struggle, that's all on you, fam. Love or fear. Love or fear. Nobody will suffer when they're going after what they love? No one. It's not possible. It's not possible for you to do what you love to do and struggle. So I'm gonna leave that right there. That's today's word of the day. Stay, stay focused, you know what I'm saying? Like, stay, stay focused. Distractions don't look like distractions until they finish distracting you. Do not get distracted, beloveds. Do not get distracted, beloveds. Do not get distracted. You got a lot of living before— you got a lot of living to do before you die, and you ain't got time to waste. Fast shout out to Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent. You got a lot of living to do before you die, you know what I'm saying? Make that dash count. Make that dash count. Don't let the distractions in. The distractions are there to distract you, and they don't look like distractions until they finish distracting you. We ain't got time to waste. If, if 2020 didn't show you that, if 2020 didn't show you that you got a lot of living to do, if it didn't show you that, you know what I'm saying? You know, pray for Lebanon. You know, rest in peace to those who lost their lives, you know, during the blast. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, I was watching videos of the storm, uh, Isaiah— I forget the name of the storm, you know what I'm saying? But the storm is out there ripping trees out, like, you know what I'm saying? Like the scripture said, Earthquake, fires, and, and, and— I forgot, I forgot the verse, you know what I'm saying? Like, you know, so, all right, let's go to, uh, the news, uh, for today. Um, and today, in today's news, uh, markets were up. Um, NASDAQ, or as of end of business yesterday, NASDAQ was up, uh, 0.35%. S&P 500 was up 0.36%. Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.62%. Gold was up 2.20%. 10-year Treasury was down 5.40%. And then oil was down 1.37%. COVID-19, it was so funny. So I saw this meme the other day. I think it was like a, like a, like a TikTok, and it's like somebody's saying, okay, you know, the coronavirus numbers are going up. Then you see Italy shut down, you see all, you know, Spain shut down, you see all these, you know, you see all these countries shut down. Then they pan to the United States and we partying, and I found that funny. Because it's just weird to me still, you know, like, I know that there is, you know, that there's certain things that we want to not be afraid of, you know what I'm saying? Like, I'm gonna still do the essential things, and I'm not telling people not to have fun, but like, just be safe. Like, I mean, you know, I'm from New York, so I follow a lot of people in New York, and I'm like, yo, it's like, You know what I mean? Like, y'all out here partying, having barbecues, and not wearing masks, and not social distancing. Like, man, God bless, you know? And so, you know, the US is closing in on 5 million total cases and recording more than 155,000 deaths since the pandemic. And, you know, it's still a clear and present danger, you know? I talked about this yesterday. I'm not trying to— I'm not trying to make anybody afraid, um, but when you combine, uh, cold weather, flu season, and this pandemic that we can't get a hold of, that's a deadly combination, you know what I'm saying? So I, I want people to be safe, you know. I want people to be safe, um. I want people to— right, but you know what I mean, like, believe— right, believe in science at least. Like, you don't got to believe the government, but believe science. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, like, like, I, I don't get it. I don't get it. You know what I'm saying? Like, I don't get it. And I, and I pray— I don't pray nobody passes away. Um, and that's the weird thing about it though too, because I think that people are only looking at— um, and I would love to, to talk to a COVID-19 survivor, right? Um, because it's like, um, you know, at the end of the day, from what I'm hearing It's not even about, it's not even about only dying from COVID-19. There's actually, you know, side effects, you know, like long-term things that happen with your respiratory system catching, you know, COVID-19 from what I hear. And I, and you know what I'm saying? Like, I, you know, it's just, it's just a weird thing to me, you know. know what I mean? Like, like, like, that's just a weird thing to me. So, um, so yeah, so, so be safe, be safe. Uh, says fear plays a big part in the sickness. I believe that, absolutely. I believe that. So I, so, so I, so I don't do anything out of, out of, out of fear. Um, but I, but I'm also, um, you know, I'm also looking at, um, science, you know what I'm saying? Um, you know, I'm also looking at science. And I'm not chancing— it's like, and I, and I, and I, and I don't, you know, make— you know, maybe this is— I mean, it's the same example, right? It's like unprotected sex, you know what I'm saying? Like, it's literally like unprotected sex. Like, you're gonna have unprotected sex and chancing getting something that could, that could last forever. You get that Batman Forever for that, for that, you know, hour, 45 minutes, 2 hours, whatever, whatever, whatever fancies your boat. However long it takes for you to have that experience, right? You're gonna, you're gonna, you're gonna have unprotected sex, you know, just for that, you know, for that little bit of time of, of pleasure, right? Just like COVID-19, like you're gonna have this little bit of time of, you know, going, uh, you know, out partying and doing all these things. You know what I'm saying, for possible death, number one. But then also, you know what I'm saying, like, you could catch something. Uh, LOL, the Batman. You know you from Harlem. The Batman forever. You know what I'm saying, like, you, you, you were, you were, you were chancing that. Like, you would chance that? Like, you know what I mean? Like, I, I, um, I don't understand it, but I guess, you know, I guess that's What's the difference? You know what I'm saying? What's the difference? You know what I'm saying? So, um, so yeah, so that's COVID-19. Um, so, uh, Senator Majority, um, Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters on Tuesday, uh, that he is, uh, prepared to support a coronavirus stimulus package that includes an extension of $600 enhanced unemployment checks that has now officially expired, uh, as the, the GOP struggles to come to a consensus over the benefit, uh, with negotiations between Republicans and Democrats are progressing slowly. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who's a Democrat out of California, said on Monday that she's not willing to negotiate the amount of unemployment relief, uh, telling CNN Um, I think that the number, the $600, is related more to the unemployment rate. If the unemployment goes down, then the number goes down. Um, right, it says, uh, while negotiations between or with Senate Republicans have proposed different cuts to the benefits, including reduction, uh, to $200 a week before transitioning to 70% wage replacement President Trump on Friday signaled his support, uh, for the $600 checks. Um, you know, we talked, we talked about Lebanon, uh, yesterday. A massive explosion shook Beirut, which is the capital of Lebanon. As of last night, at least 78 people had been reported killed and thousands injured. Neighborhoods around the port where the blast occurred were leveled. including the port itself. Authorities said the explosion came from a warehouse where highly explosive materials, which was ammonium nitrate, was being stored. The city's governor, Marwan Abad, called it a national catastrophe. Um, um, in other news, Black founder launches trailblazing online counseling platform to address mental health needs. of African-American communities. So salute to that. Um, you know, mental health advocate, licensed therapist, and startup founder Ayanna Mott has created a new online counseling platform called Perspective that prioritizes the mental health needs of Black— of the Black community. It's the first online platform whose mission is to prioritize the African-American community by providing 100% online professional counseling anytime, anywhere. Uh, it is like having a therapist in your pocket. So, uh, so that's dope. Um, you know, and lastly, uh, Jay-Z and Roc Nation, uh, launched the School of Music with Brooklyn's Long Island, uh, University. Uh, Jay-Z has made another yet powerful move to push the culture forward. On Tuesday August 4th, the hip-hop mogul announced a partnership between his Roc Nation imprint and Brooklyn's Long Island University to launch the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports, and Entertainment. The school will begin taking applications this fall, uh, for the fall 2021 semester, and 25% of the incoming freshman class based out of New York will receive full rides, uh, with Roc Nation HOPE Scholarship. So that's dope. I think that's dope. In a statement, LIU President Dr. Kimberly Klein stressed the value of being located around New York City. Our proximity in and around New York City, epicenter of music and sports, clearly positioned us to offer unparalleled experiential learning and access to professional opportunities that will launch students to success. Dr. Klein said, we look forward to joining with Roc Nation to offer an unprecedented educational resource that opens up the entertainment and sports world to a new and eager generation. So dope, dope, dope. All right, y'all, so I'm opening it up, uh, for any questions that you may have. Salute to Tatum Booth again on Facebook. Salute to, uh, my big sis, uh, Sharia Keith on Facebook. Uh, salute to Samaya Hill. on, uh, YouTube. Um, so, so salute, salute, salute. Uh, Melissa Peña, my sis, in the building. Uh, Guy Jazzy Rainey in the building. Salute, salute, salute. Um, all right, y'all, so why am I thinking— why am I thinking— falling. Um, all right, so I'm opening it up for any questions that you guys may have. If you're watching on YouTube, Facebook, uh, uh, Periscope, uh, Twitter, Twitch, uh, please put your comments in the comment section. Uh, if you're watching, um, yeah, I'm gonna talk about the split. If you, if you, if, if you're watching on, um, uh, Instagram, uh, then please put your question, um, you know, your questions in the question box. So, um, what is your take on the Apple split? Everybody keep asking. Uh, I love it. I think it's, I think it's, uh, a great signifier. So, uh, this is actually the 3rd time that it's split. Uh, and so what happens, uh, with a split for those who don't know, uh, is that whatever the, um, whatever the value of the stock is, uh, you now get, um, the equivalent value, but you just get more shares, right? So let's say for instance, uh, in this case, um, you know, Apple has, has a 4-to-1 split, right? And what that means is, um, and I, I, you know, I don't know the numbers exactly, but I'll use, use this as simple math. Uh, if you had Um, you know, if you had one Apple stock that was worth $1,000 with a 4-to-1 split, um, you now you have 4, 4, uh, 4 shares at $250. So it's still the same $1,000 value, but now it becomes more affordable for somebody to buy, you know, to, to be able to buy more stock, right? Or to buy stock, to buy shares of the stock. Um, and And so, you know, I think it's dope for a couple of reasons because number one, it allows people, you know, to buy shares at a more affordable price, you know, number one. Number two, Apple is a conglomerate. Apple is not going nowhere, right? You think about, you know, Google, Apple, Amazon, Walmart, I dare to say, are 4 like, You know, I say Google, Apple, Google, um, Apple, Google, Amazon. Apple, Google, Amazon, and, um, and Walmart are, are 4 big companies that I don't believe, um, are going anywhere. Um, and so I think that, um, you know, you know, with these trillion-dollar businesses, um, it would, it would be a good idea Uh, if you're not invested in Apple to start, you know, to, to buy some Apple stock. Um, you know, you know, Facebook and Microsoft, I, I, I can see that. But I, I also, if, uh, even with Facebook and Microsoft, I don't— me personally, I don't believe they're, they're as strong as Apple. Um, you know, like, I don't believe that they're as strong as Apple, Amazon, Walmart, and Google. And the reason, the reason why I say that is because Facebook, uh, is— their business is advertising, you know what I'm saying? Um, Joyce, put that— I keep seeing you say that, but put that in the, um, put that in the comment box. I'll answer that in the comment box, uh, about the census that's important to the Black and brown communities. Every Black and brown person needs to take the census to have money come to our neighborhoods. Yeah, I agree. Uh, so I'll talk about that in a second. Um, I'll talk about the census, but, um, but, but the 4, you know, the, you know, I, I just think that when you, when you think about, uh, Facebook, unless Facebook, um, pivots, right? If they pivot their, um, you know, if they pivot their, uh, what do you call it? Their Um, business model, I'm not sure how sustainable it is, right? Because Facebook, it makes their money off advertisers. And so if advertisers ban and say Facebook is a bad, you know, is a bad product or service or whatever, then, you know, they lose their, their business model, you know what I'm saying? Um, when you think about like companies like Apple, uh, companies like Amazon, you know what I mean, they're innovative, they're innovating things, you know what I'm saying? Like, they're innovating, um, products and services, which makes them a little different than a Facebook or even a Microsoft. Microsoft is, you know, like, they're doing well with the technology, um, and I do think that they're, that they're, um, you know, like, they're up there, you know what I'm saying? But, but that's my, my opinion. All right, let me, uh, let me open up these questions real quick. All right, let's go to the question box. Uh, um, uh, Elegant Eleanor says, uh, can you suggest platforms to invest in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency? I use Coinbase, uh, and so I, I use, um, you know, I use, I use Coinbase, um, and so I, I would— I, I think that's a, um, a good platform. There's others out there, but, you know, I, you know, I use Coinbase. I would say Coinbase is a good platform. Styles Lewis says, if you have a retail website, are you still responsible for state taxes even if your state don't have? That's a great question, right? So if you have a retail website, are you still responsible for state taxes even if your state doesn't have any? It depends on the state that you're selling. So for instance, I use Shopify. and I sell live books, and anytime I sell to, let's say, somebody in New York, I'm being charged, or I'm charging sales tax in New York, right? Because that's where the sale is going, and I'm charging that sales tax. And at the end of the year, when I look at my books, or when I look at, you know, when I look at, you know, my taxes or whatever the case may be, Um, I'm— or, or my CPA is looking at, you know, what I gotta pay. Um, you know, when you do your tax, it's gonna ask you, have you done business in other states besides the state that you live in? Um, and then, you know, you, you're gonna have to account for that. So, so I guess the short answer is yes. Um, you know, if you do have a retail website, uh, you are responsible for the state taxes for the states that you're selling to. So like if you live in like Delaware and Delaware doesn't have state taxes, um, then you don't have to pay state taxes in Delaware. But if you're doing business in New York, then that— then you have to pay taxes in New York. That's a great question. And I, um, I got to get my guy Mitch, uh, on the line as well. Uh, we got to start doing our Tax Tuesdays, uh, because he's a, he's a better, um, you know, he's a better person to, to, you know, to rock out with that. Um, Butterbean says, I tried Coinbase, but it doesn't— uh, but it didn't feel safe. Um, I've had Coinbase for 5 years, and I've, I've had— I hadn't had a problem with that. Um, but also, uh, there's ways— and, and the First Lady is actually, um, more astute to this than I am— but there's ways that you can actually, um, hold your cryptocurrency yourself. Um, and so there's, there's, there's what's called wallets. Um, and so you can actually, if you don't, if you don't, um, trust, um, the, the, the bases or the, um, the, the, um, the platforms like the, like the, the cryptocurrency platforms, uh, there's actually ways that you could, um, transfer your cryptocurrency to a, to a wallet yourself. Uh, but I don't know that, you know, I don't know the full, you know, the full way to do that. But there is ways that you could do that. Let's see. Next question, how was it starting your business and managing your relationships, family, friends, self? Asked that. It's a balancing act, to be honest. I think I'm better at it now than I was when I started. When I started my business, I always looked at it as like a— and it's actually a friend of mine told me this— was like work-life balance is like a 9-foot rug in a 10-foot room, right? That if the room is 10 feet, you can't ever cover the whole 10 feet, you know what I'm saying? Because you have a 9-foot rug. And so, as you focus on one thing, the other is going to lack attention and so on and so forth. And so, in the beginning, that was the case for me. In the beginning, trying to manage my business and then relationships and family and friends and myself was really very difficult. But I'll be honest, I think that that was because, you know, that was because I was working for money. You know, um, I was working for money instead of finding ways for, uh, money to work for me. Um, and again, in the beginning, it might be— it might not be as easy as it is, as it gets later. Um, but now, you know, in my current state, uh, it becomes easy because I, you know, I know my, my priorities, you know what I'm saying? Um, and, and I've built a system And that's why I tell people all the time, when you're building a business, your business should be about building a system. When I first started my business, I was doing everything, right. So, I was spending so much time in my business, you know, one, because I didn't really trust people. I wanted to be in charge, I wanted to look at everything. And so, because I was doing everything, you know, my time, you know, like, I was working for money, like my time was in the business, right. But then as I started to realize that I don't have to do everything, right. So today, right, today I don't do everything. Today in my business, I'm only responsible for the things that I have to do. So like content, the knowledge, the research, the content, That's the only thing I'm responsible for. Everything else I outsource, right. I tell people all the time that if you have a business, as you have the business, you should do, document, and delegate, the 3 Ds. You should do, document, and delegate. Because if you start a business and you are the business, then you'll never have work-life balance ever. Because all of your time has to be dedicated into that business. But if you start a business and in the beginning you want to do it, right? In the beginning you want to do it because you want to know how it's done. So that's step number 1. But then once you do it, I want you to D, I want you to delegate, right? I want you to— I'm sorry, I want you to document, right? Because I want you to document it because you need to write a step-by-step guide on how things need to be done. Now, once you document it, now you could delegate it. Now you could give that document to somebody else and you could delegate how they do the things. And that's how you create a system within your business, because as you create the system within your business, you are now— you don't have to do everything. And so now the, the 16 hours you were spending in your business, you now cut that down to 4 hours, 5, 5 hours, you know what I mean? Um, and so, you know, I, you know, that's what I would say. I would say, uh, do, document, delegate, you know what I'm saying? Because if you do that, then, then you get to a space where you can now have more time, um, for family, friends, and yourself, right? Like, at, like, after the show, you know what I'm saying? I'm gonna go, I'm gonna, you know, walk with the family, you know what I'm saying? Like, You know, we, you know, since the quarantine, we've been doing a lot of like home projects, right? So we're building up, you know, we're redoing our fence and our patio and basement and all that stuff, right? So I can spend time doing that with the family. I can spend time with my daughter, my son, with the first lady. Like, we could do that, uh, because of the way the business is, is set up. Um, I mean, I manage the people who I delegate to. And so I'll probably send an email. Like, I have a few clients that I'm working with Um, and I'm, I'm helping them with their websites. I'm helping them with funnels. I'm doing all that stuff, right? I got— I, I outsourced that stuff. I got somebody else working on that, you know. So that, that's how I would say. Um, let's see, let's see, let's see. Wall Street, uh, let me just go back. Um, uh, says the loan balance is $4,500. I don't I don't know if there's a second part of this, but I don't see this. What are your thoughts on investing in cannabis? I think that investing in cannabis is very lucrative. I think it's something that we should be all looking into. I personally have not invested in cannabis yet. It's something I do want to do, but because I'm being pulled in so many different directions, I want to focus on the things I'm focusing on, but I do think that investing in cannabis is lucrative. I think that investing in cannabis is similar to like prohibition. When you think about alcohol, you know what I'm saying? When alcohol was illegal and then it became legal, and then now it's a billion-dollar business. So I think that's going to happen, the same thing. But there's still issues, you know what I'm saying? Because it's not legal on a federal level yet. And so, you know, that becomes, you know, that becomes the issue. But I do think that it is going to be lucrative. So somebody, if you do your proper research, is something that you should be looking, you know, looking into. What stock tracker do you use? Al France asked about stock tracker. I don't use it. I'm not sure what it is. So I gotta, I gotta look into it. Um, if you have a retail website, uh, all right, so somebody, uh, Kiana Ariel, um, I mean, what's that? Styles, you got 2, 2 accounts because you asked the same question. All right, if you have a retail website but your business isn't— oh, is it? Oh, sorry, so this is different. I'm sorry. If you have a retail website but your business isn't registered, should you charge taxes? Yes. Right? Because you're selling as an individual. And so, as you know, as an individual, right? So, like, if you don't have a business registered— I mean, I think you should register your business too, right? Like, if you're in commerce, you should register your business and get a business certificate, you know what I'm saying? So, you should register your business even if you're not registering as an LLC. you should register it as a sole proprietorship or, you know, a partnership or whatever, because, you know, in order to do business, you should have a business, you know what I'm saying? So I would say register your business and then charge the tax for sure, unless— and I'm not saying this, but unless you're like, you know, doing it under the table, you know what I'm saying? And in that case, be careful because the IRS be watching. How many categories do you protect the intellectual properties of your books? I just do a copyright. So whenever I write a book and a book is finished, I send it out to the US Copyright and Trademark Department and I get a certificate for the book. The other ways— so, so I— so did I show it to y'all? I didn't even think I showed it to y'all. But, um, the other ways that I protect my intellectual property are for things that are my brand, right? And so besides trademarking, I also have, uh, uh, I mean, besides copywriting the book, um, I actually— I also actually have a trademark on Ash Cash and Mind Right. And so nobody in the in the finance world can put out a book about Mind Right nothing. If you if somebody comes out with a book Mind Right Invest Right, Mind Right Credit Right, Mind Right Crypto Right whatever cease and desist pull that off because I built a brand under my business Mind Right Money Management. I have I own the trademark. Uh, for mine rights, the term mine rights, just like For Dummies. Like, nobody can't, uh, you know, write a book. I can't go Cryptocurrency for Dummies. I can't do that because there's somebody who has a trademark for the For Dummies saying for books. Um, same thing for mine rights, same thing for Ash Cash, right? I know there's a lot of other Ash Cashers out there. It's all good. As long as it's a hobby. If you making money off of the name Ash Cash, I'm coming for you. Cease and desist. Let me get that. In fact, if somebody's making money off of mine, right, or Ash Cash, I'm actually gonna let y'all live. I learned this from my attorney. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm gonna let y'all live. Go ahead, live, make money. So that way when I cease and desist, I get a bigger piece. Uh, you know what I mean? So, uh, do I have to copywrite before I get into Mailbox Money Academy? Nah, Mailbox Money Academy, um, we're giving more information opposed to you giving information to us. Um, I mean, you know, within the group, um, you know, so Mailbox Money Academy is my, um, mastermind group. Um, so there's a Facebook group that you guys interact with each other, but I mean, I don't— I mean, you know, copywriting Um, and trademarking and protection, I, I think is important, but, um, I definitely think that, um, you the sauce, you know what I'm saying? Um, damn. So see, Joyce, Joyce, I told you to put it in there because now I missed, uh, I missed, I missed it, uh, because they're about to kick me out. Uh, but, but I'll talk about the census. Have you had any experience working with school districts Yes, I do. Do you practice yoga? I don't. I want to, but I don't. How many categories? I said that. What is your take on Bitcoin mining? Man, there's a lot of great questions. Please hit me in the DM and ask those questions or send them in because I answer them, but my time is up. I appreciate you guys so much, and I keep missing— I keep missing Butter Beans, your question. How do you build your children's confidence and enhance body positivity? I keep missing that. I'm going to do that. Um, but yeah, I appreciate y'all. Thank y'all so much for tapping in, tuning in. Uh, you know, uh, make sure you go to theashcastshow.com to subscribe to the podcast. Uh, go to ashcasttv.com to subscribe to the YouTube channel. Uh, I appreciate you, you guys, uh, for always tapping in, tuning in. I'm gonna see y'all tomorrow. Uh, oh, I didn't even get to talk about this Gift and Loom thing. Maybe I'll come back. I'm gonna talk about that because y'all Uh, the Blessing Loom. Maybe I'll do that, but I gotta— I got a full day today, so I don't think I could do that. But all right, y'all, see y'all same time, same place. All right, peace.
