In a morning‑news segment on PIX11, financial‑empowerment coach Ash Exantus (BankMobile) walks host Suze through a practical five‑step framework for launching a business without quitting a day job. He stresses lowering personal living costs to free up capital, disciplined time‑management to carve out 1‑3 hours daily for side‑business work, setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time‑bound) goals, continuously educating oneself on market trends and business fundamentals (including patents and financing options), and finally launching the venture and actively marketing it so customers know it exists. Throughout the interview, Ash emphasizes realistic budgeting, leveraging business loans, and using the PIX11 app for further resources. The tone is conversational and motivational, aiming to empower viewers to take concrete, incremental actions toward entrepreneurship while maintaining their full‑time employment.

Well, it's tough to go after your dream of owning your business when you're working your current job, but that's exactly what you should be doing. Financial empowerment coach from BankMobile is here to motivate you to a point right now and get that money working for you. Please welcome back Ash Exantus. Nice to have you here.
How are you, Suze?
All right, let's talk about lowering the cost of living because you want to be able to save for the business of your dreams, right?
Oh, absolutely. Yeah, I think one of the most important things that people don't don't do is have enough money to start their business. So you have to lower the cost of living instead of living like a king or a queen. You have to lower the cost of living in order to save money to be able to run that business.
So really you gotta focus on what you need. Don't let your money get swallowed by fees. If there are things that you can do without, do without it. And also start talking about business loans, right?
Absolutely.
All right, time is always a factor. What should you be mindful of when you speak about that?
You have to understand, right? We have the same 24 hours as Oprah, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé, right? So we have to be able to use our time wisely. So instead of trying to figure out, saying to yourself you don't have enough time, how can you get back some of that time? 1 or 2 hours every day working towards your business is more than not working on it at all.
Yeah, you gotta work towards it. Make that time, everybody, 2 to 3 hours to go after your dreams. Dreams just don't happen.
Exactly.
Poof, like that. Hard work, perspiration, that's how it all happens. All right, next you say setting goals. How can we do that and really work and be realistic about that?
Absolutely, and that's the thing, right? It has to be SMART goals. They have to be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound. You can't just say, this is what I want to do. You have to have a plan of action and then put it to action.
Okay, so have a plan of action, then put it to action. First, start off with your loan. First, start off with your idea. If you need to get a patent, those are all the things that you need to be thinking about. Step 4, you talk about education.
Let's talk about that. Absolutely, because a lot of times people think when you start a business, you're solving a problem, and that problem is ever-evolving. So you have to get educated on your business, understand what are the trends of your business in order to be effective at that business.
And Ash says step 5 is really launch and then spread the word. Thank you so much for that.
And, and, and that's important because people don't realize that if you have the best business but nobody knows about it, what's the point?
Thank you so much, Ash Exantus from BankMobile. Of course, all that advice will be on our website, on our PIX11 app. Click on the morning news tab and you'll have that information for you. News at 7 starts right now.
