Hey there and welcome back to Hump Day Q and A. We have another great question for you today and it is this one of our favorite questions. It says what are your favorite romantic getaway places?
A fun one.
You guys know on the enneagram we are sevens. We don't, you know, we just do that for fun like take it or leave it. But basically that's the enthusiast and one of the traits of an enthusiast is loving travel. And, and we have a wanderlust. Like we love to just see the world and experience new things. And so we love this question and I would say right out of the gate, one of my favorite places that we've been is Costa Rica from where we live in Georgia and even in Texas because I'm trying to remember what if we went there.
Yeah.
Living in Texas or Georgia, it was.
Easy to get to a quick flight.
Yeah.
From either of those places. I mean, yeah, it was only a.
Lot fairly inexpensive compared to like what you'd spend other places they have some all inclusive resorts or you could do more of just like a stay at an Airbnb there the people are really nice. There's lots of excursions where you can go on ATVs, you can go ziplining, you can go swim with different, you know, sea life. It's just really, really fun. And I would say too, we love, we love cruises. Like I feel like cruises are the most affordable way to see the world and you can go to lots of different spots.
I'm telling you, like guys, I never went on a cruise as a child. Like, you know, we didn't go until adulthood. And I'm sold on it for unplugging for, for like, bang for your buck. The food is incredible. It's all you can eat all the time.
The entertainment's.
Entertainment's amazing. All this is included in the price that you pay. You wake up in new beautiful places every day. Most people that I know that aren't interested in cruising, most of them have just never gone. Yeah, my brother is. Says he's claustrophobic. He's I. Cruising it for me. I just know it's not for me. And he ended up going. And now, like, he's. He's addicted. There are some people that go and they might have, like, a negative experience, and then they just think it's not for them. I. I think that's an anomaly, really, because most people that do it, like, they realize, oh, my gosh, where has this been all my life? So for family or for a couple?
We love it for both.
Yeah, because there's a lot of stuff for kids, too. I mean, most of these ships have a bunch of stuff for kids. Our kids love it when. When we go. And again, like, for the price, it ends up being cheaper than almost any other vacation. When it's all said and done, it ends up being cheaper. Yeah, so we, we love that. I mean, we're. We're big fans of that. We. We live in the Southeast, so from here, you know, we love. We can get away to. To certain beaches. St. Augustine, Florida, the oldest city in the United States, is a. Is a hidden treasure that not a lot of people know about. But so much to explore there. Very romantic city. It's fun to explore. The beaches are nice as well. We like going up to the mountains, whether from where we are. The mountains of the North Georgia towns are really charming. The Smoky Mountains. Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Dolly Parton's home. You know, like, that's a beautiful area. A lot to do. We're planning on a quick trip with the kids up there pretty soon. But it's a great romantic, romantic spot. You know, a lot of people, you know, in this area honeymoon up there even. It's pretty in the mountains. There's a lot to do, A lot of good food. We like seeing new stuff. I mean, we try to go places we haven't been. We love the national parks because we like to be active so that we can eat more. I like to hike around so that I'm burning calories, so that when it comes to the eating, I feel like I Can eat guilt free a bunch of food. But really it's just making time together. It doesn't have to be elaborate. We'll just have little day dates where we'll go down to the Augusta Canal and go for a walk or just go get lunch somewhere.
When we were early married, we were living in Kentucky and I remember we had literally no money, but we still wanted to have some little romantic getaways. And so around that area we would go to Natural Bridge or Red River Gorge. But one of our little places like across the river that we would go in Indiana, it's called Brown County, Indiana. It's a cute little romantic town.
It's so charming, so much to see.
And then when we lived in Texas, we went to a place called Fredericksburg which is known for like their wine. And I mean you would. You think Texas really? And it's like, no, they have like a cool town and stayed in a really cute little area.
A lot of fun spots in Texas.
Lots of fun spots. But it's. Yeah, it's just kind of all over the country. I mean I feel like, you know, we've. We've been blessed with being able to, whether it's for work or for play, going all over the country. And you know, we went to Sequoia over in California and just that is. I mean to me, florists are so romantic.
We, you know, just some of the place we've done marriage ministry. Well, we had not been there before and we like fallen. We were like, man, this place is so nice. Like you know, Destin, Florida, we did an event there. Beautiful. And all along the 30 a strip of. Of Florida that those beaches are amazing.
Yes, yes, yes.
We did an event in Fairhope, Alabama, which is. I'd never heard of, but it was one of the quaintest, most charming little towns. It's on the water. A great spot for a romantic getaway. I mean it was, I felt, I mean it was just beautiful. Fairhope, Alabama, Maine.
Maine has my heart, let me tell you. We spent time in Acadia national park and just all the towns around that area, just so cool. Right in Rhode Island.
Yeah.
Let me tell you, Newport, Rhode island is like going back in history and then there's all this great food and just the. All of New England. Like I feel like I'm a. I love Boston. I feel like Boston is just fun. And you'd be like, Boston's romantic because there's so much fun stuff to do in Boston. But there's romantic sides to Boston too. And all around that area. We hope to get to the Cape one day because we kind of had to skip that, that one trip. But I've heard that's very romantic. And so, yeah, I mean, I feel like every, you know, do your research. Look up, like, romantic spots in the area where you're going.
Yeah.
And I'm telling you, there's just everywhere has something. And it's good to hear from the locals. Like, we always find out, you know, we find our favorite spots based on what the locals say, whether we're in the States or outside of the States. Because even in Costa Rica, they'd be like, ooh, let us show you this. Like, this is really cool. You know, we've been many other places that out of the country that are amazing. I mean, including Paris. Like, it is extremely romantic. I mean, walking up, up the Eiffel Tower is about as romantic as it gets. But honestly, I've had just as much a romantic experience by just going through the. The forest or. You know what I'm saying? I feel like it just depends on.
What you're looking for because you can make out anywhere.
That's true.
That's true. Hey, guys, I. I want to add one final one. I think one of the most romantic couples getaways you can do is one to come to one of our exo events.
Exo events.
And this is not just a shameless plug. They are. They are legit fun. Yes. There is food, there's laughter, There are surprises, there's entertainment, there is inspiration. I love it.
And even a vow renewal and a.
