Outer world is often designed, when it comes, for example, to social media, to stimulate our nervous system. And the more that we can let go of the outer world and sink back into our inner world, that will not only make us calmer, but indeed make us feel happier. Because why do we engage with the outer world? What are we looking for? These parts are often looking for safety, for approval, for love, for some good feelings to offset how a part of us may feel. And the irony is that it doesn't matter how much you look for this in the outer world, it can never fill the gap within permanently. Only we can do that with our inner work. And our inner work. The first step is this somatic work, to make friends with our bodies again. Because if we don't go within, we go without. And so lovingly, step by step, we learn to tune into our bodies, feel our legs and arms, feel into the sensations, and move from catastrophizing, resisting, feeling concerned about, to gradually tolerating and then gradually accepting, making friends even with the sensations in our bodies. Gradually moving, to being at peace with our bodies, and eventually a deep sense of surrender to what is so.
