A short coaching-style YouTube video by Ashok Gupta offering three practical ways to have a stress-free Christmas using a Christmas tree metaphor: (1) stay grounded with self-care, pacing, and timeouts; (2) entertain mindfully by enjoying the process rather than fixating on outcomes; and (3) manage family dynamics by rising above triggers, accepting others, and not taking things personally.

Did you know that just looking at your Christmas tree can remind you how to have a stress free Christmas? Firstly, we can often neglect our self care and pacing. But look at your Christmas tree again as it stands there, tall and proud. For it to shine and be strong, it needs to have deep roots and be grounded. And in a similar way, for you to shine this Christmas, you need to take those timeouts to breathe, meditate and rejuvenate. Setting those boundaries for self care now. Secondly, we might feel the stress of hosting and entertaining. Rushing to make the Christmas dinner, having to host so many people wondering whether you're doing a good job. But look at your Christmas tree now. When you decorated it, didn't you just enjoy the journey rather than focus on the outcome? So in a similar way, let's mindfully entertain the same way we joyfully decorated our tree. Let go of the outcome and just be in the moment. Enjoy the experience. Because there is no path to joy. Joy is the path. Now the final source of stress can be family dynamics. At Christmas, we're having fun, but we easily get triggered. And when this happens, look at the fairy at the top of the tree. She rises above the situations because she's a fairy. She's light and she floats through situations without getting bogged down by them. She accepts people and their personalities. They are the way they are. Let's not take it personally. Let them be the way they are so we can save our own sanity. So your tree can remind you to ground yourself daily, entertain mindfully and be a fairy.
