My name is Emily, and before I became unwell, I was working a lot. So I'm a musician and a private music teacher. And I was touring a lot. I was recording, teaching, kind of working all day long, all the time, traveling quite a bit. Yeah, I was really busy, really active, you know, could sort of stay up long hours and just had a lot of energy. Was pretty easy for me to do a lot. So that's kind of how life was before. So I must have gotten Covid. March 2020, and I became unwell, really. It was actually about two weeks after I had what felt like the virus. And I woke up with a barrage of symptoms, and there's so many. But the main ones that I was really struggling with were fatigue, neuropathy, dysautonomia. So, like, atomic nervous system malfunction, really debilitating, numbness, labored, really trouble with breathing, labored breathing, issues with my heart rate kind of going up, coming down, brain fog, weakness. I had a lot of weakness, especially in my hands and legs. I got a million tests. I mean, everything under the sun. MRIs, all kinds of scans, blood tests, went to all kinds of specialists, and finally went to the Long Covid clinic in New York City at Mount Sinai in February of 2021 and got a diagnosis of Long Covid, which was a relief, but also, you know, it's a bittersweet diagnosis. Of course, I was probably able to work maybe 30 to 40% of what I could do before I got sick, but even that was, you know, I could only do it in certain parts of the day, but it was hard for me to even going for walks. And also I couldn't watch, look at screens as much as I could before. Couldn't talk to people for a long time. I had to really kind of minimize conversations, like long conversations. So it was impacting my life a great deal. I think the first thing. The first positive thing that I really noticed during the Gupta program, or the thing that I was, was a huge relief was just having any kind of program, because at that point, I really didn't. No one had given me any kind of program. So having something that felt that I could take it at my own pace, it was offering just something that was really comforting. And the meditations, I think, initially were really helpful because they felt really geared towards my condition. And that was. Even though I'd. I had been meditating for many years, and that was a tool that I had. It was really useful to have meditations specific to my condition, my illness. So I think the comfort of just having what felt like a community and other people that were really going through it, you know, that was just hugely comforting. And then the symptoms themselves started to get better. I noticed the fatigue was getting better. I noticed that the numbness was getting better. The nerve buzzing that I had had, those things were getting better. And those were kind of the worst things that I was experiencing. So those started to get better, you know. And I particularly noticed it with, of course, the brain retraining exercise and the soften and flow meditation felt like magic. So I noticed. I noticed a difference within the first in my symptoms in the first two weeks of doing the program. And certainly the psychological, the positive psychological changes in the first few days of doing it, like taking a shower, going for walks, it was much easier. Big thing was I could sleep through the night without getting numb. And certainly playing guitar was easier. In fact, I think I played my first show, live show, in September of 2021. So that was a huge milestone. I couldn't have done that before.
