Sam. Sa. Hello and welcome to the Advanced Recovery Program for cfs. My name is Ashok Gupta and I'm the director of a clinic that I run here in Harley street in Central London. I suffered from cfs myself around 10 years ago and I had it for over three years. This condition is also known as ME in some countries, but throughout this program I shall refer to it as CFS. Through research I managed to get myself 100% better and I've been better for many years. For the last 10 years I have been researching CFS and this exciting recovery program is a climax of that research. For a long time now I had felt that I had made a major breakthrough. But I only wanted to publish my therapies once. I was absolutely sure that it would help the vast majority of people with cfs. Therefore I have spent the last few years refining the therapies by working with many patients. I believe that CFS is the kind of condition that is easiest to treat if you have suffered from it yourself as only then can you fully understand how it feels. I don't think I could have made the major breakthroughs that I have without the experience of going through it. Now this recovery program is a product of many years of my own research and experience in the following areas. Firstly, my personal experience and subsequent 100% recovery from the condition. Seven years working successfully with CFS patients at my clinic in Central London. My hypothesis on CFS which was published in a peer reviewed medical journal. Interviews and research from people who who have recovered from CFS themselves. My qualifications in hypnotherapy and NLP which is neuro linguistic programming. Research into recent advances in brain neurology, especially the work of Professor Joseph LeDoux and finally general medical research into CFS. I want to thank you for buying this program and putting your faith in me to help you recover from cfs. I truly, genuinely believe that if you follow all the processes in these sessions for up to six months, this will help you recover from cfs. Now for most of you this will mean making a full 100% recovery. And for some of you this will mean making significant improvements along the road to full recovery. I have made it my lifelong quest to understand CFS and to cure it for as many people as possible around the world. What has really kept me going has been the immense feeling of satisfaction that I get when someone recovers and goes on to lead a normal life. You will hear some of these great stories in the testimonial section where some of my ex patients and people from my medical Study will describe the incredible process of healing that they have gone through. Now, this recovery program contains The firstly, the DVDs of the sessions with myself, secondly, worksheets and reference materials to accompany each session, and thirdly, the Amygdala Retraining Mind Map. The best way to use this program is to follow the exact instructions on the worksheets and and in the DVDs as this will help you get the most from it. Look, I've been through CFS myself and I know what it's like when you really want to get better so badly. It can be tempting, for instance, to want to watch all the sessions as quickly as possible in an attempt to get all the answers straight away. However, I would really recommend that you watch the sessions in sequence as instructed. This program is designed as a step by step process to help you have a sustained recovery. You should follow the flow of the sessions and at the appropriate time you'll be told which session to watch or which exercise to do, or which meditation to listen to. As a rule of thumb, I would suggest only watching one session in one day and to only watch the next session once you feel fully comfortable with with the one you've just watched. Maybe you can leave a couple of days between some of the sessions. So as a start, please continue to watch this session until you are prompted to watch the next session. Obviously because each person will respond differently. Once you have watched a session at the right place, you can always watch the next session again whenever you feel like it. In fact, I would suggest that over the next six months now, you watch the whole DVD set many times to refresh your understandings and to make sure that you are doing the techniques correctly. This is a big benefit, in fact, of using DVDs as you can use the program whenever you need to refresh yourself. Now, there is so much information on CFS on the Internet, but my experience has been that when you commit to a course of treatment like this, it is useful to not get distracted by other theories, therapies or experiences. Also, a lot of information in books and online is very negative. In fact, many of my patients comment that it makes them feel even more powerless. This program, however, is designed to get you back in control of your recovery and to help you feel like you can finally move forward. This first session is to help prepare the ground for your recovery from CFS and to put everything in place for the next session where we'll go into the explanation of cfs. Firstly, then let me share with you my personal experience of cfs. I Suffered from CFS when I was studying at Cambridge University in the uk and like other sufferers, I just could not understand what was happening to me. I had always been fairly healthy and energetic until that point. Obviously university had been very hectic with the usual mix of academic work, socialising, burning the candle at both ends. But I never considered that it was too much for me. How wrong I was. If I look back, I was pushing myself incredibly hard. One summer after my second year at university, I went to India for a holiday and I contracted a virus which gave me flui like symptoms. At first I thought nothing of it until a couple of months had passed and yet the symptoms persisted. I assumed it would go away in time, but when it started interfering with my academic work, I began to really get worried. I just couldn't shake off the flu like symptoms. I felt extremely exhausted all the time. I had difficulty thinking and concentrating, my temperature would go up and down, I had achy limbs and muscles. I felt physically and emotionally drained and completely weak. At least when you have flu, you know that however dreadful you might feel, it will soon pass. But this really was like something I'd never experienced before. I really felt like I wasn't going to recover. I couldn't play sports like football. In fact, any physical exercise would make me feel much worse and I would take days to recover just to get myself away from thinking about the symptoms. I used to pretend like there was nothing wrong with me. I'd still go out with friends, but invariably I just felt dreadful and wish I'd just stayed at home. I would force myself out of bed in the mornings to lectures, but I could not concentrate and would often fall asleep in the lecture hall. I was 21 and suddenly this illness felt like a brick wall in front of me. Me. Now my family were obviously sympathetic but were powerless to help me as they couldn't understand what was wrong. I went from doctor to doctor and was told many things, including it's okay, these things happen, you'll be fine, just snap out of it or you have depression, take these antidepressants or even another doctor saying, get some exercise, that will help. And it can't be said that I didn't follow their advice for a period of time. I decided to take the course of antidepressants, but I found that that just made my symptoms a lot worse. Furthermore, there was a strong voice inside me telling me that I was not depressed. In general, I felt very positive about life and had always had a positive outlook. This felt like something very.
