Most of my patients tend to have seen a nutritionist before they come to see me. And maybe you have also seen a nutritionist. Now this can be a good thing because it can help with any secondary issues which may arise, any secondary symptoms coming from say Candida. But it can also make you much more focused on getting your diet 100% correct, thereby ironically increasing your stress levels and your worry levels. Therefore, I am simply going to give you the following very high level general guidelines. Firstly, please make sure that you drink at least two and a half litres to three litres of pure water a day, ideally not at meal times. Secondly, increase your intake of fruit, vegetables, salad and oily fish. Obviously this is dependent on your personal circumstances and advice from a professional. Eradicate caffeine, high sugar foods, fried foods, alcohol, red meat and salty foods from your diet whilst you're on this program. You can always introduce these back into your diet once you're feeling better. Also try to reduce dairy products in your diet. Once again dependent on any advice you have received from a professional. Remember that making these changes won't necessarily make a huge difference, but it will help your mind and body to be in the right place for the healing to occur. Also, please do get out of your house as much as possible. Now I appreciate that if physically your abilities aren't great then this may seem difficult. But see what you can manage. The ideal thing would be for you to walk in nature as much as possible. Maybe walking in the countryside or at least sitting outside. Even if it means sitting in your garden or somewhere outside for the day. That's great. Get as much daylight and fresh air as possible. This helps with retraining but once again is not absolutely vital. So now lets get into the recovery program. The way to use this program as we mentioned is to watch all the sessions in sequence. Maybe you could watch say one session a day or maybe you would like to watch a session every couple of days. That's up to you. The important thing is not to watch two sessions in one day as you will need time to absorb what you are seeing. Once you've watched all the sessions you can always re watch a session again. In fact I would suggest re watching at least two sessions a week over the next six months depending on what you need to refresh yourself about. Also you may need that motivation as you go along. So watching the sessions repeatedly really will help with your motivation. Here is a quick reminder of today's key points. Firstly, always consult your doctor and rule out other causes for your fatigue through blood tests before starting this program of recovery. I believe that CFS is a real biological condition with real physical symptoms in the body. Don't waste energy trying to persuade people around you or doctors around you that the condition is real. Just focus on your own recovery now. Try not to look at any other information about CFS whilst you undertake this program. Give this 100% of your focus and attention. Ups and downs during the recovery process are normal. Keep focused on the medium to longer term goal of getting 100% better. Gradually develop a sense of belief and trust that you really can get better. I will help you along the way with this. Start now by keeping a diary of negative thoughts that arise during the day about your condition as well as other negative thoughts. Try and keep to a good diet with lots of water and fresh foods. Try to get as much daylight as possible possible. Given that today's session was simply an introduction, it is fine for you to go ahead and watch session two today. Allow around one and a half hours for session two. So now thank you for watching today and I will see you in session two.
