Hidden Post Covid-19 Pandemic of Chronic Illness | Ashok Gupta | Gupta Program |

Ashok Gupta warns that many COVID-19 survivors may develop chronic post-COVID syndrome, with prolonged symptoms similar to ME/CFS and fibromyalgia. Early data from the Zoe COVID study shows a portion of patients experience persistent post-viral effects tied to neuroimmune activation.

There is growing evidence that some COVID 19 patients are continuing to have chronic debilitating symptoms long after they recover from the virus. And some experts say that these patients may be developing symptoms similar to other chronic illnesses such as ME chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. And the recent Zoe Covid study found that 10% of COVID 19 patients were suffering with post viral symptoms for at least three weeks and 5% of patients were debilitated for months. Now, this may mean that we're on the brink of a devastating secondary pandemic of what we here at the clinic are terming chronic post COVID 19 syndrome or CPCS. These patients are left to manage their chronic and often debilitating symptoms at home, often alone, without a support network. And while some medical professionals are aware of this emerging news, others are not. And as a result, patients are being disbelieved and dismissed. This leaves these COVID 19 sufferers vulnerable from a medical, social and employment perspective. Their suffering has become invisible. And this is a path that myself and my clinic are unfortunately all too familiar with in our expertise in treating other parallel conditions such as ME fibromyalgia and mcs. Now, this syndrome clearly has a profound effect on the brain and the body. And these patients require urgent assistance. They may not be receiving the care that they need. Now, there may be many reasons why there are long term effects. Some patients may have actual scarring in the lungs as the root cause. However, based on a medical paper I published, we hypothesized that the majority may be experiencing what we call neuroimmune conditioned syndromes. Now this is where the brain and the body go into extreme survival mode. Following the traumatic experience of having COVID 19, the brain may not switch off aspects of the immune response or the nervous system response, which can then cause chronic symptoms and excess inflammation throughout the body. We here at the Gupta program have been supporting patients with chronic conditions for over 20 years and we aim to help patients rebalance their nervous systems and their immune systems using the principles of neuroplasticity and holistic health practices. So if you know somebody who is suffering from chronic long term symptoms of COVID 19, then please do let them know of some free tools and free videos that we have on our website@guptaprogram.com and please do share this video so we can reach as many people as we can to help those desperately in need. Thank you.
