This is a first-person YouTube testimonial by Naieema describing her SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) experience and recovery using the Gupta Program (brain/amygdala retraining). She reports initial symptoms—new constipation, severe bloating triggered by high‑FODMAP foods (bananas, beans), extreme fatigue, brain fog/word-finding difficulty, insomnia, and irritability—which affected her work and relationships. She tried naturopathic herbals and probiotics (temporary relief) and three rounds of rifaximin (symptom remission while on antibiotics, relapse after stopping). After researching neuroimmune approaches she joined the Gupta Program; within ~2 months she tolerated small amounts of bananas and other FODMAPs with reduced bloating, and after ~5–6 months regained normal bowel function, stopped bloating, regained sleep and cognitive clarity. She emphasizes empowerment from retraining the brain rather than repeated tests or medications.

Hi, everyone. I am Naima. And before having and dealing with Sibo, I was traveling the world. I was eating old foods. I was just enjoying my life. At first, what I noticed was a slight constipation, which is very abnormal for me. I'm very healthy. I exercise, I drink water, eat lots of fibers. And then I remember one day eating a banana and my stomach looking like I was about nine months pregnant. And I finally found out it was sibo, just from the symptoms of the constipation, the extreme bloating with bananas, beans, anything that was high fodmap foods. But also, I didn't just have that. I also had extreme fatigue. Like, I would have to take a nap. And I'm not a napper. I. I couldn't remember things. I couldn't remember a word. Sometimes I'm like, I want to say this thing, but I couldn't remember. I'm an educator. I am a professor of nursing, and I'm trying to, like, lecture or teach or share, and I'm forgetting words. I was very irritable because I had. I was dealing with exhaustion, gut issues, lots of anxiety. So I was very irritable to the people I love. I. I couldn't sleep at night even though I was fatigued. It really just impacted every area of my life. So the first thing I did was I went the holistic route. So I worked with a naturopath who put me on herbals and probiotics. But as soon as I would stop the herbals, it would come back within like, a week with a vengeance. So then I decided to do the traditional route. So I did three rounds of rifaximin. I felt great while taking them, eating what I wanted, no bloating, sleeping well, anxiety's gone. And then within a few weeks of stopping, comes right back with vengeance. So I was desperate. Then I found out that sibo, like many of the diagnoses that we're dealing with, are neuroimmune. And if we can just calm that down, our bodies can heal. Was I skeptical? Yep. Was I desperate? Yep. So I said, you know what? This herbals didn't work. The traditional medical route didn't work. So I'm going to try it. I did a lot of research because I'm a researcher. And of course, the Gupta program has all the studies, all the, like, meta analyses, all the things that, for me, as a researcher, screams effective. It works. So I chose to trust the process, and I started the program. Within about a couple months of doing the program, I could eat bananas A small amount, but I could eat me a small banana. I started eating other fodmap foods with absolutely no. No bloating, absolutely none. So every time I had a hiccup. Because you do have hiccups. I did have hiccups. Where? Okay, Dad, I ate too much of that food and now I'm bloated. I just won't remember what happened within two months. So I started to say, okay, I can trust the process because I'm evidence. I have evidence in my own life that it works. So again, slowly introducing foods, letting my body know that it is safe for me to consume these foods. Doing the brain retraining, the amygdala retraining, reminding myself it is safe for me to eat these foods. I mean, and I believed it. I visualized it, I felt it. And within about five to six months of doing that consistently, I can eat all the things I want. I'm not constipated. I don't bloat. I'm going to the bathroom. Normally, this program is a game changer. I'm sleeping better. My brain fog is gone. My midday fatigue is gone. I think the thing about the program that's really, really special is how empowered I feel knowing that simply retraining my brain is all it takes for me to heal my body. I don't gotta pump it with poison. I don't have to be in despair. I don't have to pay for all these lab tests every month when everything is coming back normal. But I'm still feeling really bad. So just to know that I have the power to retrain my brain is the most amazing thing about this program.
