This is a YouTube video titled "Practitioner Stories: Laura's Experience of the Gupta Program" featuring Laura, a nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience in functional medicine. In this personal account, Laura discusses her positive experience with the Gupta program, emphasizing the importance of neural retraining for healing brain fog and autoimmune conditions. She explains the science behind the program and encourages patients to start neural retraining early as part of a holistic approach to health.
My name is Laura. I'm a nurse practitioner. I practice functional medicine. So I like to really look at the root cause of why people are ill. And I've been doing. I've been a nurse practitioner for over 25 years. Everybody was just raving about it. And then I saw the research that has been done. I'm all about the science. I'm a nerd about the science. So when the Gupta program showed that it had the research to show how much it works, I knew I had to try it for myself. I think that's how most functional medicine practitioners find functional medicine is because regular practice didn't work for them. And so that was my story as well. And so I had some terrible brain fog, a lot of autoimmune conditions, and it just, it was just so helpful. I don't know how many times a day I say to myself, stop, stop, stop. Right? And, and then go on with my day and change my, my thought process and know that it works and feel so much better because of it. Brain training is the, the, the first thing I encourage my patients to do it get started right away. Yes, we're going to change your diet. Yes, we're going to look at your supplements and your vitamin levels and your blood and your stool, and we're going to do all the testing and see what else is, is maybe triggering you. But if you don't undo those pathways in your brain, you're not going to get better. So neural retraining is the biggest thing. It affects our nervous system, our nervous system, aff those immune systems, our nervous system affects the hormone levels. You know, my analogy is, you know, if you're feeling like you're running from a saber tooth tiger, you're not going to stop and have sex right now, are you? Right. So your body knows that, and all of your sex hormones are on the back burner. You're not going to stop and have a nice meal. If you feel like you're running from a saber tooth tiger, so your digestive juices are stopping. So, you know, I give all these analogies. If you don't get out of the fight or flight mode and retrain your brain, you're not gonna get well. And it's so deeply ingrained in our bodies that it takes a long time. And so the earlier you can get started on the program, the better. I have a quote right above my head from, from the Gupta program. And it's about, your body is wired for survival, not well being. And I have it highlighted and I tell patients that all the time. So. So if you can change the way that your body is thinking and just recognizing the fact that your body is trained that way, you can do so much with neural retraining. Our bodies are electronical beings, so we have to rewire. And we've done a lot, We've been through a lot. A lot of things happen to us subconsciously that we don't know why we do things. So when you start to realize things as you go through the program, just start it. You just have to do it. And it's not easy work. It is something that you have to actively do, but at your own pace, you can do it. And so just plug along, Just start. Just start it.
