Sanchia, who has had generalized anxiety disorder since youth, describes developing persistent joint soreness in her hands after a gardening injury. Medical tests returned normal but the unexplained pain intensified her anxiety, causing depression, social withdrawal, and burnout. She tried diets and alternative therapies (acupuncture, homeopathy) without relief, felt skeptical but ultimately began the Gupta Program around the end of 2021 to address her anxiety, depression and unexplained pain.

My name's Sanchia.
And before I got my symptoms, you.
Know, I was always fairly, I guess.
Active and I guess just life felt normal. I've always had anxiety and since I.
Was young, it's just a generalized anxiety disorder and scared.
And towards the end of that year.
I actually got an injury because I.
Was like doing some gardening around the house and I was actually using a.
Pair of cutters in both hands and.
I probably overdid it and my hands got, all the joints in my hands got sore and I thought, oh, you.
Know, a couple of weeks and it'll get better.
But it actually never got better and my hands stayed sore. So a couple of months later, you know, I could, I could still feel that, that soreness there. And because I'm an artist, that, that.
Worried me because I'm creating with my hands.
So I went to the doctor for, you know, the, for blood tests and.
Everything came back clear.
So the doctors were just like, go away and it'll.
But it didn't.
And I think that living with that.
Soreness, not knowing what it was, it.
Was, it made my anxiety really, really bad. And so, you know, I was searching.
I was trying to find answers to.
To why this was happening and was it going to get worse and what was it.
The anxiety was really bad during that time. It's really the worst it's ever been.
And then it affected everything, like my family life. I, I, I was pretty much, I.
Just stayed home, I, and you know.
With that anxiety sort of loop and things, I became really depressed and I.
Would say burnt out because I was.
Just on switched on all the time and I couldn't relax.
But, you know, I've tried all of.
Those things before and more of it. And for my hands, I did try things like, you know, with a bit.
Of a background in health, I naturally went to an elimination diet because I.
Thought, you know, maybe if I can reduce inflammation, if that's causing it. But nothing helped. I tried acupuncture, homeopathy, a lot of alternative therapies. And yeah, it's still, it was still there. Nothing really, really made that much difference. So I, I was fairly, I was.
A little bit skeptical to start with just because I didn't feel like I.
Fit the profile of, of the Gupta.
Program because I didn't have CFS and I didn't have some of those sensitivities and an official diagnosis, I guess.
But I sort of, I thought, well.
For the anxiety and depression like that burnout, that's definitely something I can relate to.
And I had, like, an unexplained pain sort of syndrome.
So I jumped into it, and I think that was at the end of 21.
