Self-love Exercise & Meditation | Gupta Program |

Ashok Gupta leads a guided meditation using mirror work and breathwork to build self-acceptance. You notice self-criticism, breathe through it, then direct unconditional love toward yourself with affirmations like "I love you for who you are." The practice ends with imagery of liberation and a butterfly visualization.

Well, hello, and a warm welcome back to the second part of our Facebook Live, which is a self love meditation. So we're going to be taking you through that right now. And as I mentioned before, if you can just grab a mirror and we'll be using that as part of our meditation. And so part of this meditation will be with your eyes open and part of it will be with your eyes closed doing something different here today. So I hope you've got that mirror ready. If you haven't, we'll give you a moment or so just to grab that. And if you've got that right now, then I'll turn my video off. Then we'll be going through this self love meditation, okay? So please get comfortable, please switch off your phone, make sure that's not going to interrupt you. And we're going to take a deep dive right now. Okay, good. So let's get ready for the self love meditation and let's have a look at ourselves in the mirror. If you don't have a mirror, that's okay. You can close your eyes and just imagine looking at yourself in a mirror. But for the rest of you, have a mirror, just, just look at yourself in the mirror. Now, as you look at yourself in the mirror, what's that first reaction that you have inside? What do you notice? Do you notice yourself criticizing how you look, putting yourself down? Or maybe you think, wow, I look great. Whatever you experience, that's perfectly fine. Let's accept all our experiences today. And as you look at yourself, do you notice any awkward, uncomfortable feelings? How do you feel about who you are as a person? Do you truly love this person that you see in the mirror? Become aware of any subtle feelings of resistance in your body to looking at yourself. In that moment of awareness. Now just looking at yourself, become more aware of that deep down internal dialogue. Do you notice a lack of self love? Perhaps? Are you judging and criticizing yourself often? Do you feel like you're not good enough? Where did you learn that? Who told you that? Whatever that was, we can leave it in the past. As we continue to look at ourselves in the mirror, If we don't feel good about ourselves, we feel more stressed, more anxious or depressed. In life, when there's a lack of self love and appreciation, Just observe those sensations in your body, the awkwardness or resistance you're experiencing, where do you feel it? Wherever you feel it in your body, we're going to breathe it out. So become aware of where that lack of self love, that fear or shame is existing in your body. Become Aware of that emotion, take a slow deep breath in and breathe it out and let go and surrender it to love. And let it go. Once again. As you look at yourself in the mirror, Become aware of any negative feelings, that awkwardness or fear or not feeling good enough or that resistance. Tune into it fully. Take a slow deep breath in and let go and surrender it to love with a smile. Now I'd like you to close your eyes. And think of somebody that you really feel a lot of love for. It might be a child, your partner, a niece or nephew, or somebody else. Notice where you feel that feeling of almost unconditional love in your body for that person. Might be a pet. Just with your eyes closed. Think of that person more and more and why you love them so much. And nurture that feeling of love in your heart. Feel that warm, happy feeling when you think of that person you love. Once again. Just gently nurture that feeling of unconditional love for someone in your life. If you can't think of someone, just think of a beautiful nature scene that you love. Have an even bigger smile in your face as you connect with that feeling of unconditional love that you know you can show to somebody else in your life. With a smile. Holding on to those lovely feelings, we can choose to give that same unconditional love to ourselves. So gently open your eyes and look in the mirror again, holding on to these feelings of unconditional love. And now direct that unconditional love and acceptance and appreciation towards yourself, Realizing that this person in the mirror is fully 100% deserving of love just the way you are, that you are a wonderful person just the way you are. Just like every child is worthy of love, so you are also equally as worthy of love as everybody else on this planet. And that's how the universe sees you. It doesn't see you as black or white or tall or short or this. And that just sees you as a beautiful manifestation of love. So as you look at this person in the mirror, realizing that all these years you were living a lie in the past, this person is fully 100% worthy of unconditional love is good enough just the way she or he is. Out loud or in your mind. Let's say some sentences, some loving messages you'd like to give to yourself, such as, I love you for who you are. Say that out loud or in your mind if you feel comfortable. You are worthy of love. You can repeat these out loud or in your mind after I say them. I have all the love for you inside anything Else from the outside is a bonus. We don't need anybody else to show us love or make us feel good. We can let go of that dependency. I love you just the way you are. If you are led to any silent tears, let them come. Don't hold any emotions back as you finally nurture that sense of self love within you. Feel that emotion, those tears of gratitude that your inner child cries as it finally where you finally allow that part of you to feel loved. Continue saying whatever you feel like saying from your intuition you know how to love yourself. So say some more sentences, some more loving messages and affirmations to help yourself feel loved as you look in the mirror. We can go ahead and do that now. Look in the mirror with compassionate smiling eyes of love. And tell this person in the mirror that you're not going to put them down anymore. You're going to celebrate them and their lives. Realize how wonderful and amazing they are just for being them. If any tears come, let them come as with smiling eyes of gratitude. Finally these inner parts you're connecting with for healing and joy in this moment right now. If there's anything further that you'd like to say to this part of you or yourself, say any final loving messages out loud to yourself or in your mind to help this person in the mirror feel valued, unconditionally loved and grateful for being who she or he is. Say thank you to the person in the mirror you've connected with today and feel them reintegrating within you. As you put the mirror down. Take a slow deep breath in and breathe out and just close your eyes. Now. Just sit comfortably with your eyes closed. Let's take another slow deep breath in and breathe out. And you now realize that you are worthy of love. You always have been. That no matter what you achieve or don't achieve, you are loved just the way you are. No matter how you look or how you act, it doesn't matter to the universe. You are loved just the way you are. No matter your wealth, status, power, looks or personality, you are deeply loved just the way you are. There's nothing you have to prove to anyone. You are liberated right now. And imagine your whole body becoming loose and relaxed and almost floating as you let go of the heavy burdens of the caterpillar and instead feel light and free to fly like that liberated butterfly. And now life becomes a joyful game because you are already that which you seek. You are already the embodiment of unconditional love. You always were. It's just that it was hidden from you. So just imagine what it would feel like if you unconditionally appreciated and loved yourself for who you really are. Spend a moment imagining that feeling of supreme unconditional love. Even if you don't feel it right now yet, just imagine how liberating that would feel right now. And now just imagine giving yourself a big hug and resolving now to not put yourself down or criticize yourself in the future. Because instead to retrain your mind to realize that you are a lovable human being, as lovable, as worthy as every other person on this planet, then you choose to be in that state of beingness for the rest of your life. So now just becoming aware of your body, becoming aware of the room around you, Let's take a slow deep breath in and breathe out with a smile. And let's just take another slow deep breath in and let go. And when you're ready, when you feel complete, you can just gently open your eyes. Good. Welcome back.
