Thanks for putting your faith in me to help you recover. And I'll do whatever I can to help trigger that healing power from within you.
Like any journey, someone can walk with you, they can guide you, but ultimately it's your journey to find that inner strength, to find that power within, to keep moving forwards and to not give in to negativity.
I hope that you'll make a decision today for a minimum six month commitment to this program. Now why is that? Because most people find that they notice improvement within days and weeks. But for a minority, it can be a number of months before those improvements come. So commitment to at least six months is important.
Once we start the program, it's about letting go and just trusting we can suspend our disbelief and skepticism for just this period of time and really go for it. If a doctor you trusted gave you a course of pills for six months and said you'd definitely get better if you took the whole dose, you would make that commitment, right?
And people often have dips during their recovery. We'd all like to have a straight line to health, wouldn't we? But we will have little ups and downs along the way. Just like when a baby learns to walk, it falls down many times, but it doesn't give up. It stands up again and keeps going until it learns the new skill. So let's commit to the long term goal of health and happiness and let's not worry about the little ups and downs along the way. And that's also why I hope you join me on this six month commitment. We'll be meeting here together for 15 video sessions, just like coming to see me at my clinic. And I want you to feel like we're speaking directly. Some sessions will also include audio exercises and worksheets.
As we go through the program, I will refer to the condition in general, which in your personal case could be any of the ones we've already mentioned. We will explain the unique application of these techniques for your personal circumstances. When we need to.
The meditations can be used at any time and you don't need to listen to them in sequence. And I suggest watching one video a day, or perhaps every couple of days and listening to one or two meditations a day. And you can repeat the videos as you'll learn more from them each time. In fact, the essence of this program is repetition, repetition, repetition.
When you watch a video, I'll explain how to use the worksheets and the audio exercises. And in our next session, I'll explain some of the supporting tools such as breathing and meditation. And after that session, we'll go through an explanation the condition, and then we'll get into the exciting main brain retraining techniques. As you recover, there is a progress diary to fill in as well as a gratitude diary. With the progress diary, you can feel grateful for the improvements that you've made, even the small ones, and that can help you stay committed along the path to full recovery. So if you have a dip, you can look back at the overall progress you've already made.
If you're signed up for the three month coaching series via webinar with myself, those are supporting webinars to these main videos. It's an opportunity to ask questions and listen to the experiences of others. And it also means that you don't feel alone in your process of recovery. So in summary, you can watch one video a day or every couple of days. And once you've watched all 15, you can start again from the beginning because you'll learn much more each time you watch them. Each video will explain how to use the worksheets and the audio exercises. And of course, each day, please remember to fill in your progress diary where you can document any mental, emotional, physical improvements that you've noticed. And during the day, you can choose a meditation to listen to.
There are three main elements to getting better, and we use the analogy of a flying dove. Now, how does a dove fly? Well, it needs two strong wings. It needs to fly in a direction. In the same way, there are three important things that can help us fly. We call them the three Rs of recovery, retraining, relaxing the nervous system, and re engaging with joy.
All of the tools and techniques fit into one of these categories. So we're obviously retraining our brain. And to balance that out to make the dove fly, we can learn how to keep our nervous system calm through relaxing the nervous system using physical, mental and emotional tools. And finally, that dove needs a direction to fly. So re Engaging with Joy is all about channeling our energy into something that uplifts us and gives us energy. And our main three Rs lead to the fourth R, which is resilience. More about this as we go along.
