A short instructional video (Session 1, Module 4) led by Ashok Gupta introducing a "symptom thought diary" exercise. Learners are asked to record negative thoughts and worries about their symptoms or condition to increase awareness. The session also orients viewers to subsequent modules (Session 2 on relaxation/meditation and Session 3 on causes of the condition).

For today's exercise, I'd like you to begin a symptom thought diary. Now that simply means whenever you become aware of thoughts about your body, worries about your health, the condition, events and tasks, just jot down that negative thought, that worry onto a piece of paper so we become more aware of what's.
Going on in our brains.
It's also useful for you to get a notepad where you can write down your notes from this program in one place.
On this page, please write down any thoughts that are related to your symptoms or the condition in general. For instance, you might think, oh, I feel worse today, or my legs are tired. I don't think I can go out. Whatever thought patterns you have that a fully healthy person would not have, they can be written down in your thought diary. And these might be thoughts about how you're feeling or a particular symptom. Negative thoughts about the condition in general, worries about the future and whether you'll get better. All of these count as symptom thought patterns.
Of course, we don't have to monitor.
Our mind, but let's simply write down when we become aware of those kinds.
Of thoughts, write down our negativities and.
Worries, get them out of our head. And then we become even more aware of our minds.
So now let's begin our exciting journey together.
You can now watch session two, which is one of our first Rs, relaxing.
The mind, where we're going to use relaxation techniques and meditation.
In session three, we'll go deeper into.
The explanation of what causes these conditions.
I look forward to meeting you in.
Our next session together.
Hundreds of people have recovered using the Gupta program and I can do it too. This program is a minimum six month commitment. I understand that. Of course there will be ups and downs along the way, but I can reach out for support. I can begin the program with a coach if I want to. By keeping a symptom thought diary, it helps me to become more aware of my patterns of thought that might be influencing my brain.
