There are 3 tonalities every F&I manager needs to master, and the order you use them is everything. The first one you need to master is curious. You need to be curious when they say something that catches you off guard. Second, you need to be confused. It's okay to be confused. A lot of people don't like to act like they don't know things. It's okay if you're caught off guard. And lastly, you need to be empathetic. That is the triangle of tonality that you need to master. When you master those 3 things in that exact order, you you'll be able to communicate with anyone who sits across from you at your desk. Now save this and practice those 3 tones in order before your next deal.
