Adrian Anania says salespeople stuck at $1,600-$1,800 per car aren't lacking skill. They're missing a standardized showroom survey that builds awareness of the customer's situation and problems. Adding this one step can push per-car averages above $2,000.

If your per car has been sitting between $1,600 and $1,800 for the last 6 months, it's not a skills problem. I'm gonna tell you exactly how to fix it right now. When I look at people who are doing $1,600 to $1,800 every single month and they can't seem to break that, it's because they're usually not doing the client survey. Not an interview, a client survey. And you can do that right now out front with the customer on the showroom floor, not in your office. And again, this is not interrogation. This is a form that's the same every single time regardless of what the customer's buying. Because what's this do? It creates situational awareness and problem awareness. If you do not do that, they can never pull themselves to your solutions later, and you will consistently be stuck in that range, and you'll never break through the $2,000 per car that you could be doing today. Now, if you want that survey to start doing it in your process, comment survey, and I'll send it right to you.
