There are 5 words you're saying in the F&I office right now that are costing you real money, but nobody's told you to stop. Those 5 words that are costing you real money right now, I'm going to get right into. Number 1, "if." Stop saying "if." You're saying, "I don't care enough to ask you about your situation." It needs to be replaced with "when" or "in the event." Number 2, "discounts." You turn your offering into a commodity. Replace it with "savings." Number 3, "not covered." You need to replace that with "responsibilities," opting out of responsibilities. Number 4, warranty. Stop saying warranty. It's not a warranty. Not only are you creating a compliance issue, right? But ultimately people don't want to get a warranty. They get spam calls all the time to buy this extended warranty. You wanna offer a service agreement, agreement to transfer that responsibility away from you back onto us, right? And lastly, number 5, price. You need to change that to total premium or premium. Total premium will apply when it's cancelable and premium applies when it's non-cancelable. Now save this. This is 5 words you can stop saying starting on your next deal.
