There's a reason customers say no to protections. You're framing it wrong. Most F&I managers present protections as something the customer is buying. They're not presenting it as a transfer away of risk. When you offer something to a customer and say they can take those responsibilities away from them and transfer them back onto you, what are you doing? You're relieving them of that one thing. No one wants to be responsible for one more thing. You need to stop saying things aren't covered, but you can cover yourself. And treating it as a buying exchange and not a relationship where they can transfer that responsibility away from them. When you start doing that, you'll start to see an exponential difference in the acceptance of the protections you offer. Now save this. The opt-in, opt-out reframe changes how every customer hears you from here on forward.
