If you're spending a weekend in Northern California's wine country, here are 3 of my favorite wineries you definitely need to check out. First up is Joseph Phelps in St. Helena. The winery founded in 1973 became famous for experimenting with French grapes from the Rhône Valley, and not only is the wine amazing, but the setting is stunning with a beautiful wood-beam-clad tasting room overlooking the vineyards. Tastings are on the expensive side, and you definitely want to book a reservation if you want any shot at getting in. Next up is Robert Cinski on Silverado Trail in Napa. The winery prides itself on biodynamic sustainable farming, and there's actually a cave on site attached to the kitchen in their tasting room. I've never had any no trouble here just walking in for a tasting, and it's also a few minutes drive away from downtown Yountville with Napa's best shopping and dining. Last up is my favorite on the list, Scribe Winery in Sonoma. Their wines are the most affordable out of any of the three on my list, and the setting is the most beautiful with an old Spanish hacienda overlooking the vineyards. The winery routinely brings in incredible chefs that curate special menus that pair perfectly with the wines that the winery is serving each season.
