3 ways to make a smaller space in your home feel a lot bigger. Number 1 is paint. Lighter and brighter paints go a long way to make a room feel a lot more airy and bigger than it actually is. And using a glossier finish on the ceiling will reflect more light and enhance the feeling of space in the room. Number 2 is a super inexpensive hack, raising window treatments higher to draw the eyes up and make a space feel taller. If you have crown molding, place the window treatments immediately below the molding, and if you don't, raise them all the way up to the ceiling. Number 3 is lighting. You can go wild with super expensive lighting, but honestly, you you don't have to. You can get great modern bright fixtures for $80, $100, $150, and they will bring a lot of freshness to a dark and dingy room and make it feel a lot larger.
