Austin Klar moved from SoMa to Pacific Heights for four reasons: traffic and Uber delays on game days, a lifestyle with private outdoor space and better architecture, easier commutes to Marin, and access to larger parks like the Presidio and Alta Plaza.

Here are all the reasons I moved out of the SoMa South Beach neighborhood and moved to Pacific Heights. First up, traffic. When I lived there, I didn't have a car, and getting an Uber on game days was a total nightmare. And that was even before the Chase Center was built. Second, I wanted a different lifestyle. I wanted real private outdoor space, not just a small balcony. I wanted coffee shops, cafes, walking distance from my house, and I wanted to live in an architecturally charming area. Reason number 3, I wanted to be closer to Marin. I spend weekends up there. I'm up there several days a week for work. So it's just easier to commute from Pacific Heights than it is from SoMa. Reason number 4, I wanted to be closer to parks. It's great being near the waterfront, but not a ton of like big open green space like Alta Plaza Park, Lafayette Park, the Presidio, and the Marina Green. I go over all these reasons in much more detail on a YouTube video that I made. It's on my YouTube channel, link to my bio. Go check it out and let me know what you think of the neighborhood in the comments.
