A brand new restaurant concept from the team behind an iconic Italian restaurant in San Francisco is coming to the Ferry Building, and I cannot wait to check it out. The team behind A16, a pizza and pasta staple in the Marina, Rockridge, and Napa, has plans to open a new restaurant concept called Lucania in 2026 at the former Market Bar Cafe location at the Ferry Building. The nearly 3,000-square-foot space is being renovated with the hope of bringing an indoor-outdoor space with heaters to the Ferry Building. The team recently opened a pop-up at the Ferry Building called A16 La Pala, and the current plan is to keep that alongside the new restaurant concept. The Ferry Building recently had its busiest quarter on record ever, and I hope that with all the new restaurants and concepts coming to the space, that that streak continues.
