Austin Klar breaks down San Francisco's nearly 90 distinct neighborhoods and warns that the most famous areas aren't necessarily right for you. Where you land depends on what matters: your commute, walkability, quiet, or price. Comment "video" for his priority-based neighborhood breakdown.

Some of the most prestigious neighborhoods in San Francisco might be the absolute worst neighborhoods for you. Just because a neighborhood has actors, athletes, or billionaires nearby doesn't mean it's where you and your family should set down roots. What makes San Francisco such a difficult market to buy in, aside from the astronomical prices and brutal competition we're seeing right now, is that there are nearly 90 different subpockets of the city, each vastly different from each other, potentially good or potentially disastrous for different people depending on their priorities. And unless you've spent meaningful time here, it's really hard to get right. I made a YouTube video breaking down neighborhoods to avoid depending on different priorities like if you need to commute to the South Bay, or if you want walkability, or if you want peace and quiet, or if you're just looking for a good deal. Comment the word video and I'll send you a link, and follow me for more San Francisco real estate. Bye!
