An adaptive reuse project is underway in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco that will transform an old private library and an 8-story parking garage into a new luxury housing development. The 24-unit condo project offered by March Capital Management was hotly contested before the San Francisco Planning Department over the extent of environmental impact studies required by the project. The Board of Supervisors recently upheld the department's ruling that no further review is required, so the developer can now move forward with the design and plan and move closer to construction. The current proposal calls for about 47,000 square feet of residential space and about 6,000 square feet for a 25-car garage. Units will vary between 1 and 3 bedrooms, and 3 of the 24 units will be designated affordable housing. Follow me for more Bay Area real estate.
