San Francisco's moving forward with plans to install 33 speed cameras throughout the city and automatically mail fine notices to violators. Particular locations where cameras are going up are places like near schools or hotspots for speeding or places where speed-related accidents have historically occurred. And the goal, according to the SFMTA, is to implement speed restrictions without bias or any risk of discrimination. The city is spending about $3 million to install these cameras throughout the city, and they're gonna start going up in early 2025. During the first 60 days after implementation, they're gonna be sending non-fee, like, warning notices to violators. Violators, but after that fees are going to range between $50 and $500 depending on how much over the speed limit someone's going. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
