Chef Perry is turning his Cantonese pop-up Happy Crane into a permanent restaurant in San Francisco's Hayes Valley this summer. The new spot takes over the old Monsieur Benjamin space and will serve both a set menu and à la carte dishes.
Major news in San Francisco's culinary scene. A chef with Michelin star cred is bringing a popular Cantonese pop-up shop to a permanent space in San Francisco. The restaurant called Happy Crane, the same name as Chef Perry's popular pop-up shop, is coming to the former Hayes Valley location of Monsieur Benjamin, designed by one of the Bay Area's most renowned architect and design firms, Aidlin Darling. The new restaurant will feature both a set menu similar to the pop-up as well as à la carte options, and it's slated to open this summer. Definitely looking forward to checking it out.
