Mill Creek Residential wants to build a 6-story apartment complex with 243 units on a vacant Fairfax office building. The town of Fairfax might be getting the largest housing development in the town's history. Mill Creek Residential has filed a pre-application to replace a partially vacant office complex with a 25,700-square-foot, 6-story housing complex made up of 243 housing units, 41 of which will be affordable. The plans also call for 6,000 square feet of retail and 322 parking spaces. This would make a sizable dent in the town's housing element, which requires it to build 490 new homes by 2031. The developer and the city are apparently already in disagreement over whether the developer submission is complete, and I'm sure that's just the first in what's gonna be a long line of disagreements between the parties as these plans progress. I'll definitely keep you posted of meaningful updates here, so follow me if you want more information.
