Strata Investment Group and Trammell Crow Company are redeveloping San Francisco's Piers 30-32 with 400,000 sq ft of office space, 700+ residential units, and a floating Olympic-size pool. The 13-acre project also includes a hot tub, kayak launch, and market hall, with seismic retrofitting and sea-level-rise defenses.

A floating pool might be coming to Piers 30 and 32 as part of a massive new mixed-use development on the waterfront. Strada Investment Group and Trammell Crow Company are working with the Port of San Francisco to completely reimagine a 13-acre pier space and 2-acre seawall right near Oracle Park and turn it into a massive new mixed-use community. Current plans call for nearly 400,000 square feet of office space, 70,000 square feet of retail space, and over 700 new residential units next to the seawall lot. This is a massive undertaking, especially with all the infrastructure work needed to seismically retrofit the area, plus defend against sea level rise and make the port deep enough for large ships to still be able to pass through. But the most exciting pieces of this, at least to me, are the floating Olympic-sized pool, the hot tub, kayak, and open water swim launch space. Plus there's going to be a new market hall with multi-level retail. Grimshaw Architects is responsible for the design and James Corner responsible for the landscape architecture. Strada aims for full entitlements by the end of 2025. I'll definitely keep you posted, so follow me for more updates.
