This iconic Castro landmark is getting a major makeover and the renderings look pretty sweet. Plans to renovate Harvey Milk Plaza in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood are set to move forward as early as next year. The renovation project has been a decade in the making and will be funded by a mix of public and private money. The multimillion dollar project will see a new stairway leading to an underground transit station to be constructed, new exhibition space, a stage and podium feature. $25 million in public funding is being supplied for the project, but anticipated costs are coming in around $35 to $40 million, so private money is being used to plug the gap. Construction is expected to begin next year and hopefully complete by 2028. Let me know what you think of the project in the comments and follow me for more Bay Area real estate.
