I've never seen a more beautiful restoration of a Victorian home. This 125-year-old home in San Rafael's Forbes neighborhood was originally built in 1900, but unfortunately burnt down almost 25 years ago. Instead of scraping the lot and building something more modern, this 5-bed, 4-bath, 4,605 square foot home was restored to its former glory. My favorite feature of Victorians are the traditional high ceilings, and this one doesn't disappoint with 11-foot ceilings throughout the property. They just make everything feel so much more luxurious and grand. My favorite room in the house is the primary bedroom with a beautiful fireplace, gorgeous light-filled bathroom with freestanding tub, perfectly situated under a beautiful window overlooking the backyard. The home is completely detached and far away from the neighbors thanks to the 12,600 square foot lot, so you get a ton of natural light filling every room in the house. There's also a huge finished pent level, perfect for children's play area, home office, gym, theater, you name it. The home originally hit the market earlier this year for just under $4 million and is now available for just under $3.5 million. Follow me for more Bay Area real estate.
