This is a major win for San Francisco. Dreamforce, which is by far the city's largest conference, just signed a deal to do 3 more annual conferences in the city. You might recall that last year CEO Marc Benioff threatened not to host the conference in San Francisco anymore if the city couldn't make progress on things like homelessness and crime because it's just not safe to host that many people in the area. So his renewed commitment to the city for at least another 3 years shows that progress is being made and will hugely benefit the city. Just to put some numbers on it, it's estimated about 45,000 people attend the conference and it's estimated that it generated about $100 million in local revenue and created 1,000 event-related jobs. Obviously a big benefit for the local economy and a sign that the city is trending in the right direction after a rough couple of years. Let me know what you think in the comments. Goodbye.
