San Francisco is working on a groundbreaking initiative with some heavy-hitting industry players to revitalize downtown. Earlier in April, a new nonprofit was founded called the San Francisco Downtown Development Corp with the goal of raising private capital to improve downtown, organize public events, and bolster small businesses in the area. Leaders behind the initiative include several prominent directors, C-suite executives, and founders of prominent Bay Area businesses, as well as firms that have substantial investments in the area. The organization will focus on events that take inspiration from the very successful Downtown First Thursdays and aim to improve our downtown streets and better our park spaces. Combine that with the 5 new entertainment zones that were just announced across the city, as well as another coalition that was founded in March called the Partnership from San Francisco, and you've got a ton of really heavy-hitting industry players who are betting on the long-term success of San Francisco. Great to see so many people pouring their time and money into making the city a better place than it already is. Let me know what you think in the comments and follow me for more Bay Area real estate.
