San Francisco's iconic Flower Mart has relocated to a new space, and it's absolutely gorgeous. After decades in a SoMa warehouse that was recently purchased by an LA-based developer for conversion into a giant 2.2 million square foot office campus, the Flower Mart moved to a new 1-acre site in Potrero Hill. Workers and vendors at the old Flower Mart were worried that they'd be displaced without a new home. So in connection with the developer's purchase of the old Flower Mart site, they purchased a separate site for nearly 100 mil and agreed to build this new market, preserving jobs for hundreds of people. The new space is 216,000 square feet 100,000 square feet large, including 125,000 square feet for flower vendors and about 91,000 square feet for parking. The site opened at the start of the new year, and if you need flowers for your home or a party, definitely needs to be on your list to check out.
