Brand new event space is coming to Market Street and I'm excited to check it out. The development arm of furniture company IKEA is working on a multi-use event space called L4 at the IKEA-anchored shopping center in the MidMarket neighborhood. The space will be about 3,877 square feet on the building's 4th floor, hence the name L4, and there'll be enough seating there for about 250 people and they hope to open this October. The company's already been testing different types of events in the space. They've been hosting, for example, cooking classes at Solu Hall, which is the food hall there. They've also hosted private dinners in the space and there are probably going to be different types of events coming there as well. Good to see some innovative new concepts coming to that area, which has been one of the harder-hit areas in all of San Francisco.
