The city of Belvedere in Marin County just approved the largest new housing development in the city in decades, avoiding what would've been a fight between the developer and the city over a larger development the developer was threatening to submit using the builder's remedy. The proposal calls for 40 new homes and parking for 102 cars. The residences include 23 apartments, 10 lagoonfront duet homes, 6 single-family homes on the lagoon, and one of those homes with an ADU. Sutton Suzuki and Francis Goff Architects are responsible for the design and Guzzardo Partnership responsible for the landscape. Demolition will be required for 22 existing units in a 70-year-old complex there, and construction on the new development Development is expected to begin in 2025.
