Austin Klar breaks down September 2023's San Francisco home sales: a Sunset fixer-upper sold for $500,000 after 17 days, while a Russian Hill luxury home with an elevator and sky lounge closed at just under $16.4 million after a year on the market.

September's in the books, and these were the most expensive and least expensive single-family homes sold in San Francisco last month. Kicking it off with the least expensive was this 2-bed, 1-bath, 1,644-square-foot fixer-upper in the Sunset neighborhood. The 1920s-era marina-style home was perfectly situated right next to Golden Gate Park and Irving Street shopping and dining. The home selling point was definitely the 25 by 120-foot oversized lot with great expansion possibilities. This is probably steal of the year. It sold for just $500,000, which is about $498,000 under its initial ask, and it only spent 17 days on the market. And the most expensive was this 7,400-square-foot Calihula home with 6 bedrooms, 7 full bathrooms, 3 half bathrooms, and some pretty stellar amenities. The top floor sky lounge had floor-to-ceiling glass windows opening up to multiple terraces with incredible views of the bay and Russian Hill. There's also an elevator to all levels, and the primary bedroom had 2 separate bathrooms. The home spent about a year on the market before selling for just under $16.4 million, $2.6 million under its initial ask. Follow me for more Bay Area real estate.
