In this brief on‑camera update, Austin Klar reports that San Francisco is attempting again to install Marco Cochrane’s nearly 50‑foot‑tall nude sculpture “R‑Evolution.” The original plan to place the 13,000‑lb statue (plus a 16,000‑lb base) in Union Square was cancelled because the combined weight would damage the plaza’s tiles. Klar explains that the project is now targeting Embarcadero Plaza, with installation slated for April 10. An unveiling party is scheduled for the same day at 5 PM, featuring a full bar and a DJ. He invites viewers to comment on the upcoming artwork.

San Francisco's making another push to bring a nearly 50-foot-tall statue of a naked woman to the city. Earlier this year, it was announced that a statue of a nude woman by Petaluma-based artist Marco Cochrane called R-Evolution would be installed in Union Square in February. But those plans were scrapped because the 13,000-pound statue and its 16,000-pound base were too heavy for the tiles at Union Square. Now efforts are in the works to bring the statue to Embarcadero Plaza, and it's supposed to be installed on April 10th. An unveiling party will happen on April 10th at 5:00 PM, and there's supposed to be a full bar and DJ performance. Looking forward to seeing the statue in person.
