Fisherman's Wharf might be the latest site of a potential office-to-housing conversion project. 2300 to 2340 Stockton Street is the site of the former Academy of Art University, and the over 70,000 square foot space is currently zoned for commercial use, but a developer looking into potentially buying the site is exploring expanding the space and converting it to housing upwards of 70 units. The property is currently for sale with Marcus Millichap for $16.4 million, so obviously no like firm plan in place. They actually have to buy the site and get that permitted to make that happen, but we'll see if it gets any legs. I think it's a cool idea. That spot is getting a bunch of new restaurants, so it'd be cool to see some new residences there. Let me know what you think in the comments and follow me for more San Francisco real estate.
