San Francisco's Parking Lots Are Becoming Luxury Towers

In this YouTube commentary, Austin Klar reports that Strada Investment Group has filed a formal permit with the Port of San Francisco and the city to transform a block of Embarcadero parking lots into a 263‑foot mixed‑use high‑rise. The project will deliver roughly 600,000 sq ft of residential space comprising 568 units—studios to two‑bedroom units—with 86 units earmarked as affordable housing. Grimshaw Architects and Perry Architects are the design teams, planning an amenity floor and a rooftop terrace that will offer waterfront views. While the office component will follow later, the focus is on residences as the office market recovers. Construction is hoped to begin by 2028, though no firm timeline is set. Klar invites viewer feedback and encourages following him for more San Francisco real‑estate updates.
